Comenity CLI thread

Hi all.

Based on the fantastic advice of this board, I was introduced to the shopping cart trick. I went a little nuts and ended up with a slew of Comenity cards. Only J.Crew has given any LUV so far, and I've been hitting the button every few weeks on the cards.

Wondering if people can report any cli received from Comenity, and also indicate how long you had the card, original balance and cli amount, as well as usage. Also, was it auto luv or did you hit the button or ask another way?

Here's what I've got:

Jessica London - 12/13 $250 - used twice, I believe
Woman Within - 12/13 $250 - used one on JL site
Express - 12/13 $250 - used once

Romans - 1/14 $500 - used once

OneStopPlus - 1/14 - $500 - used twice

Loft - 1/14 $250 - never used

Sportsman's Guide Visa 5/14 $3k - never used

J.Crew 5/14 $750 (instant cli $1,150.00) - used once

If I don't get some luv on WW, Express, and Loft soon, I'm eliminating those since I don't use them really and was just using them to grown my util. Now I have "real" cards, I can trim down.

Eager to hear other experiences and tricks. Anyone get luv as a "save" tactic when threatening to close the account? Anyone call in?

Well it doesnt look super good if your hitting the button every few weeks. Generally lenders wont give increases unless its been 6 mos. Since last increase or opening. Another issue might be use. Lenders like to see their cards being used. Like once a month or so. I suggest use the cards a little more then ask. You could try calling them.

Re: Comenity CLI thread

I should clarify. I've been alternating hitting the button on various of these cards, not all. Mostly to see what happens. But it's Comenity, and all SPs. That doesn't seem to affect increases from what I've heard on here. Seems like the only one that really increases is J.Crew and maybe VS, until after 7-9 months.

John398,

Did you get the card with an app, or shopping cart trick? How long have you had it?

Re: Comenity CLI thread

Victoria's Secret:  +200 11/13/13,+300 3/7/14 (now 750)

JC Crew:  +2 6/20/13,+2 7/24/13,+2 8/25/13,+2 9/26/13,+3 2/21/14,+4 5/21/14 (now 1800)

EXPRESS:  +250 5/8/13,+200 9/15/13,+200 1/17/14,+400 5/21/14 (now 1000)

I use Express every 2-3 mos.  I use VS every 3-4 mos.  I haven't used J Crew since before xmas and they just gave me another 400;  that's a card I'm considering closing as I hardly use it.  I don't like paying $30 for a pair of socks!

They aren't 3-month CLI clockwork for me.  Each card is pretty different in timing of CLI's.  I've only gotten them thru the luv button, I've never tried calling. I didn't get my first CLI from VS for about a year, although j Crew gave me CLI's each month until I hit over 1000 and now they're every 3-6 mos.  Express is more clockwork and once it was even an auto CLI.

Re: Comenity CLI thread

I opened my Express card back in January of this year, I try the luv botton every month but never get anything ($250 CL).  I'm not to shocked considering I haven't used the card in almost 5 months.  End of summer will probably be the end of Express card, doesn't offer much so when I do shop there I'll probably just use a rewards card anyway.

Re: Comenity CLI thread

All of my Comenity cards have automatically increased with the 7th statement so far. The $250 starting limits went to $550 or $650. Victoria's Secret went from $500 to $700 and HSN went from $500 to 1200.

Something like starting over (again). Post 7 rebuild begins in October.
