This is more due to lack of patience, which is almost a natural thing we tend to not have much of. Once you take a breath and think, you realize it isn't really the big deal it turned in to, and probably should have been expected in a change like this.
What you say is certainly true, then again this didn't happen overnight. Citi knew this was coming for quite awhile and I think its perfectly fine for people to hold them accountable for their shortcomings. Always kind of amazes me how we tolerate poor customer service here compared to the level of service expected in some other countries.
Until now I haven't got my Citi Costco card while the Amex TE card has disappeared from my account and I have seen an 11 points drop on my TU score. Any way to find out if citi is mailing my card on the way? A CSR told me she has no access to the citi card for me unless I have registered the card to my account...

We got ours in a couple of weeks ago. I don't know what the big deal is, chances are if you had the Amex credit card you probably have another one you could use (Amex isn't accepted everywhere) unless you only have a MasterCard. It's not like Costco is regular supermarket where it's the only place you shop at. Like I said, I understand people being annoyed but it's really not the end of the world.
+1
Even if someone's only non-Costco card happens to be a MasterCard, can't the customer service desk at any Costco can give a temporary store pass that will allow access to the credit account in the store?
I know Sam's Club can definitely do this... I applied for my Sam's Club MasterCard online, and I went to a local club a few days later to have my picture made. The CSR specifically told me I could use my temporary member card (printed on the spot) to charge store purchases to my credit account, but since it wan't a 'MasterCard' of course it wouldn't work anywhere else (she also specifically told me it would only work at that one club location).
I don't have a Costco membership, but I would be surprised to find out they don't have a similar capability.

They do! You can get a temporary one that they can scan at the register. My point still stands, if I needed something that bad I would use my debit card. But I still think having a membership to shop somewhere is a luxury. And this is coming from me who is a grocery store snob.
I agree with you completely, my friend... you're point definitely still stands.
I wasn't attempting to challenge it, I was actually reinforcing it - it's a little rediculous for people to be so upset about this, since there are still multiple ways to pay in the store.
I received my card the 3rd week in May and had no troubles using it on the first day of the switch, but it looks like I got lucky maybe.
