Credit Utilization

I know idealy we should keep our utilizatoin under 10% across all cards, but realisticly the CCC have to know that on ceartin occasions things do come up were we have to use more than 10% of our UTI. I have a $2000.00 AMEX and had to put 515.00 on it.  so right now my uti is almost 26% on this card.

My question is should i PIF next month, or pay half which would cut it to 12% uti, and then PIF. i'm thinking the 26% won't hurt my CS that much so why PIF next month?

Amex does not like it when you carry a balance.  PIF if you can.

If it were a different issuer I would say that 26% is not that bad util.  You will lose a few points if you're going from less than 10% up to 26%, but it's still not outrageous.

Again, though, always PIF an Amex if you can.

Re: Credit Utilization

Yes thank you, going by other posts on this forum the general concensous is AMEX doesn't like a balance so the best bet would be PIF. I guess it really depends on the card i know Cap1 likes a balance so it might not be a bad idea to leave like $100.00 if it was on a cap1 card.
