In my mind I've concocted a conspiracy against me at the hands of Discover. I did a balance transfer last week from Discover to my new Freedom. It posted yesterday to my Freedom account and when I called they confirmed that they completed a wire transfer to Discover. I contacted Discover this morning and they said they haven't received it yet. My billing cycle closes tomorrow. I feel like Discover is not going to post this payment until Thursday just to mess up my utilization for the month. It's an electronic payment. Those go through quickly. I just know some evil banker is holding it in his pocket until the day after my statement closes...
Yes because an "evil" processor is sitting on that ACH transfer (somehow they knew you'd be doing this) and won't release that clearing button. Yup, I'd say they've singled you out
You do realize this post was not meant to be taken quite so seriously don't you? No need for your annoyed sarcasm.

Finstar must be having a rough morning. The recent MyFico rudeness continues to rise.
@OP, I hope the payment posts today for you! I've seen these things post as quick as 1-3 days or as long as 5-10 days.
In the future, if they send you paper checks with the same BT offer, I highly recommend writing one to yourself - depositing and pushing a payment through your banks billpay if you're under time constraints!
Best of luck!
I'll have to keep an eye out for the paper checks. I didn't take advantage because I didn't want to mess with the timing.

Thanks for that tip! This is my first time doing a balance transfer. I figured submitting it online would be as quick as making a payment online. Living and learning. Still hoping it goes through by tomorrow though!

Discover takes 5-10 days. I put in a small transfer and was taking forever and when I tried to cancel, they couldn't. It took 5 days...

That's so brutal!

I think people are just taking things too seriously. Read the comments and remind yourself that speech is being converted to text and back. Context and tone may not always translate as intended.

Agreed... But when someone paints a picture as vivid in jest as an evil banker holding her balance transfer in his pocket; one must wonder how said context is being so misconstrued. I'm not one who wants everyone here to say congratulations on every thread, but if you have nothing of substance to add - keep it to yourself.
