J Crew moving to Synchrony

I received the letter yesterday that on April 26, 2024, my card will move from Comenity to Synchrony.

Thanks for sharing. Out of curiosity, is one better than the other? I know Synch likes to close accounts out of the blue, etc.

Re: J Crew moving to Synchrony

Almost seems as if Comenity is hesitatnt to offer branded (Visa/MC) vs just store cards. IIRC this is not the first card to go from Comenity to Synch and offer a MC/Visa version.

@Creditaddict  You would be the one who has this card! lol 😂

Just out of curiosity, what is your CL on this fantastic card?

My current limit is only $2800.

Comenity closed virtually all my cards a few years ago when I had a credit dip.

at some point I was able to obtain Jcrew and recently express back again with shopping cart trick.

i was to say my previous jcrew limit was over $14k but I can't remember exactly.

i had over $300k in comentiy CL's at one point🤣

That and CLDs. My wife's JCP card was reduced from $20k to $500 due to minimal or non-use, prior to eventually being closed for the same reason.

Scores: March 21 FICO 8: EX 810, TU 808, EQ 813
AoOA: closed: 40 years, open: 30 years; AAoA: 14 years
Amex Gold, Amex Blue, Amex ED, Amex Delta Blue, Amex Hilton Surpass, BoA Platinum Plus, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Chase Amazon, Chase CSP, Chase United Explorer, Citi AA, Sync Lowes, total CL 203k

J Crew moving from Comenity Bank to Synchrony - Say goodbye to your credit lines

So, I ultimately will lose my $1500 credit limit.  Be sure to use your rewards before the switchover at the end of the month.

Also, watch out posting similar material on Reddit.  One of the resident trolls became snarky and told me I had bad credit.  I responded back in-kind.  The mod banned me telling me I was nasty while the person was trying to help me.  Or just stay off Reddit altogether (recommended).

Me too.  I guess I will be losing my $1500 credit limit.  I will make sure to use my remaining rewards before the switchover!
