I got inspired from the posting by @M_Smart007 so I messaged NFCU asking for CL Reallocation from my MoreRewards. They said they would only do it if there is a balance transfer request. Then I replied if that is what it takes, I will do the balance transfer and also asked for balance transfer promotion offer. This was back on Thursday last week. Then no reply until Tue after labor day weekend. They replied on the balance transfer promotional offer only but nothing about the credit limit reallocation. Then I called them today (Wed), and talked with the CSR, and CSR explained that they could not do the CL reallocation unless the balance transfer is above my current CL ($36k). I said I would not want to do that, since doing that would max out my credit limit right away. He just wouldn't want to do it. Then I went back to my message, and asked again about the update/progress on my CL reallocation request from MoreRewards ($25k) to Flagship and requested to close the MoreRewards all together. A few hours later, I got a reply on message and they asked me to confirm if I still wanted to do it, and I replied right away to proceed without showing how excited I am that they are willing to move the whole thing since previously they wanted me to leave $500 behind. After I got the reply again they have completed the request, I double checked and sure enough, my CL has gone up from $36K to $61k. Phew... I was already accepting the fact that my request was going to be rejected outright. Moral of the story is :..Don't give up. Try again - politely though.

Thanks for those data points on NFCU, @arifjk. While "officially" their stance on CL consolidation has changed, I still hear stories like your's slip through the cracks. It's making me rethink my NFCU strategy. Congrats on the nice new CL on Flagship Rewards!
