Hello FICO friends I wanted to share for those who have the Old navy or Gap cc in June Barclay bank will resume the Synchrony cc for both these store cards. Got the info from my sister who read the change on her Synchrony bank statement. The switch over to Barclays will be in effect June 2022..

My condolences to those of you who have the card.

Awww c'mon @gdale6 😂  15+ years with Barclays and I've never had any issues!  Now, that's not to say others haven't had some no-so-stellar experiences, but this definitely frees up my exposure with SYNCB. Plus, if I need to swap limits around, Barclays is always pretty flexible with reallocations.

You know he's right  😂

Re: New Old Navy (GAP Brands) CC soon

They could've done the CLD for 2 reasons I suppose. I did close 2 of their accounts but also, my ON card was a store card not the MC/Visa. I didn't use it much at all but the CL was an awesome buffer for my UTL. Since the CLD I used it during Xmas to keep the account open but paid it off the next week. Haven't used it since then. I suppose I could try for a CLI but I figured they might decline since I closed two other accounts with them. Having said that, I just paid off my Synch Amazon (also a $6k CL) so maybe they'd consider a CLI now. The question is do I wait until the Amazon account reports the zero balance to the CBs before requesting a CLI?

Old Navy/GAP going to Barclay's (not sure who else)

Their store branded card, Visa and MC will be moved from Synchrony to Barclay's. I just got my packet in the mail.

I'm putting this out there for everyone to see. I don't know who knows (or cares).

Re: Barclay to resume Sychrony bank Cc

Hmmmm, I'm in good standing, just used it to keep it current, have a balance of $50 to pay off in a few days. It has a small  $2,500 CL,  never bothered to push it higher, BUT I got the your card May be transitioning and IF they decide to transition you ,,,,,,

Sounds like Im being set up to not transition which sucks as its one of my oldest cards.

Timing is bad for me, we just started new Co and used some credit cards (kind of a lot) which pushed us into next debt tier and Fico dropped significatly! ugh. Oh well, other than the length of time hurting me and the 2.5K I won't miss it, but I'd rather keep it right now. We ae trying to get a loan for the new company and we dont need any more FICO drops! Ugh!

Re: New Old Navy (GAP Brands) CC soon

Apparently, Barclays loves (or at least likes) us!

One of the few store credit cards in my sock drawer is the Old Navy Visa. It has a $5,000 limit. Once or twice a year, I use it to buy new clothes when they're having a good sale.

Well, Barclays is replacing Synch for this card...and today, I received a really fat packet of information telling me that I'm one of what one would presume is many to be transitioned into the new ON Mastercard:

-New account number

-APR remaining static

-Due date changing (to what, I have no idea)

-Rewards: Same

New card expected to arrive by mid-June and be active as of June 20, 2022.

In my wallet: Local Credit Union $25,000, Northwest Bank VISA $25,000, AMEX BCP $15,000

Re: New Old Navy (GAP Brands) CC soon

Yes, Barclays at least likes me. The last Barclays card I have (after closing Uber) is a Barclays Rewards MC that I got back in 2012, and has a $10k CL. With that CL I've kept it active by using once or twice a month at Dollar General, which for some reason get 2% rewards, which is supposed to be only grocery stores, gas or utilities (for which I have higher rewards cards). Dollar General does carry some "groceries", if you're into frozen Banquet pot pies or cans of Chef Boyardee. Smiley LOL

Well, I recently got this offer:

barclay.jpg

That's on top of existing rewards, so 5% on groceries. My Amex BCP gives me 6% at grocery stores, so I've been using it at my local Walmart store which codes any pruchase as groceries on Visa/MC (but not Amex/Disco). (The Barclays Rewards MC has been closed for new apps for several years, but thankfully hasn't been PC'd to any of their other useless cards)

I got my packet today too, I only have the old navy store card so assuming it'll stay the same but glad to get back in with Barkley after bankrupting a 1200 card woth them a long time ago.
