No mobile app might be a drawback, I tend to use them.
I do have a bmo account, they paid a $400 bribe, I'm about to close it. No credit cards im interested in.
Thanks for the rundown on syw.
Same as soon I get the SUB I am closing BMO and never heard back about the CC as well.

I mean, it was literally the Sears card before being rebranded as something more generic. I put off applying for years, sure that it would be discontinued or the crazy offers would stop but it just keeps going (allegedly because of a valuable portfolio of old boomers who carry balances)

True no mobile wallet (f* people who say "Apple Pay" by default instead of an inclusive term) support is unfortunate, but this is also the case for other Citi dept store cards, like Macy's and Best Buy. You can add them to pretty much every specific mobile app however (haven't encountered any I couldn't), so don't confuse mobile apps with mobile wallet (also, it HAS SYW mobile app, so download it?) And oh noes, I can pay all of them by debit card... I'll take the 1% extra cash back as compensation for it being one of three physical cards in my wallet, thanks, making it a 2% everything/6% gas/4% dining& supermarket card before any offers or deals even figure in.
If you can't make it work after deciding to apply AFTER all the data points outlining everyone's ups and downs with it, that's truly on you.
It's not a "starter" card. It's for "next-level" MyFICOers who can handle timing spend and tracking emails for offers. I would never recommend this card to a credit card "beginner".
Hell, I reread the mega-thread every now and then from the beginning as I have more and more context for the data points various people experienced.
This card is amazing. Feel free to cancel it. The less users it has, the less likely it is to get nerfed.
You sould like a chaser of fake lawsuits...."beginner" You mean go to the website and chase down Taco Bell, Dominos, etc or the coupons they offer? Did you try to sound so advanced and yet came out as a dunce?

As for the rest, no one promised you those things. Only massive cashback. It has it's quirks. If you value not physically carrying the card with you at $2400 a year, that's probably just you.
Dont need to carry cards with me when places accept Apple Pay or Google.....Sorry you dont embrace tech like I do and would rather leave the cards at home, PS enjoy replacing those cards when they get screwed up from swipping...
I carry my wallet and phone when I go out anyways. It makes absolutely no difference. And Walmart doesn't take mobile payments anyway, except their own which is where I usually complete the GGR spending.
I'm not "butthurt". This card is for people who value the amount/percent of cashback over everything else. If the most important thing to you was compatibility with Apple Pay, you could have asked in the mega thread (or done a Google search) and not only would you have discovered it didn't work with mobile wallets in about 30 seconds, you could have saved yourself a hard pull too.

Some people are unware of how stuck in the 90s this card seems to be, as you can tell some are mad I said this card sucks....For me it does 5% gas? I get that from my Sams Buss card, 3% grocery stores? I get that from Sams card as well...Overall Purchases are still at 1% if no coupons or deals are tied to the card....Again Sams does that....But at least with Sams I can use Apple Pay and leave the **bleep** card at home....

Never said you were, but you did...and some who have followed the mega thread didnt realize the things I posted as well....Hmmm feedback helps....Some of you that have use for it well great that works for you....For me I am now seeing it wont work for me....Mega thread doesnt account for all
Lol! Yep a mega thread of the same 3-5 people cult that love the card, they can just use the PM feature now instead of the thread.
They are old news and the thread should have been canned long ago, just like other threads in the past.
Talk about an "echo chamber"......

I'm not the one unable to use the Quote function correctly.
Also, the only time I've ever been to the SYW website was when I applied for the card. If you're going to the website, you're doing it wrong. As I explained. Exhaustively. There's an app you continue to choose to be stubbornly ignorant of.

Sock -

Chopping Block -

Debit Cards -

For me the issue is that people that like this card call it CASH BACK which it IS NOT....it is "gift card" back, that is way more accurate. I love cash back that I can put in a bank account not gift cards. Not every card is for everyone, but I feel reading posts about this particular card is they miss label it as CASH BACK and it is not...

I'm certainly not mad, but then again I averaged just over 9.5% cashback in aggregate across the $21K of spend on my TYP earning Sears card (it started out as a Sears charge card back when I was in college and I was in the 1st wave that Citi converted to Mastercards when they took over the portfolio in 2003) in 2024. FWIW, Citi has been throwing me these types of offers since 2018 for gas, grocery, restaurant, online, utility, travel, and sometimes even non-category spend and while unfortunately the card hasn't been working out for you it sure has for me.
