Synchrony Credit Solutions

Just found this thread. Good info from everyone. Does the Synchrony UW phone number still for for SP CLIs? I want to get a round of CLIs next week before it’s no longer possible to do it that way.

Hey @_NERD, yep... Credit Solutions still works, although with some they aren't as loose as in the old days.  They are still mostly concerned with your TU score... that hasn't changed. Smiley Happy

Many people are still recommending the overseas number:  877-379-8173

Good luck!  Smiley Happy

Re: Synchrony Credit Solutions

Hehehe I still have that phone number programmed in my contacts! I have a Marvel & Walmart store card with them. Still hoping to achieve $25k CLs on each!

Is their max exposure per customer still 100k? I read that somewhere on the forums...the good ol days Smiley Wink

Yep, that's usually still the case, although there are a few people who have reported being able to go over.

There was a scare a while back where Synchrony was closing accounts (usually after demanding a 4506-T, like an Amex FR) and many people stopped trying for the $100k max exposure (nobody ever figured out the exact trigger... sometimes just adding an AU seemed to do it).  Things have been quite on that front for a while, though.

You shouldn't have anything to worry about... I have fairly high exposure myself, and I just took my Care Credit MasterCard from $9500 to $15k a couple of weeks ago.  (I have Lowe's $20k, Sam's Club MC $20k, Care Credit MC $15k and Belk $5k).

Note:  On most Synch sites you can now (usually) put in your requested credit line for CLIs (unlike the old days where you just had to take what they gave you).  Some have had really good luck with this; it's what I used for my recent Care Credit CLI.  Smiley Wink

Excellent info, thanks!  Should my Sync cards be PIF before I go in for a SP CLI?  They're over 50% util, fastest PIF option would be to BT them to my Citi card.  Should I have the Sync accounts report zero balances?  Overall util is under 30%, but that util happens to be on the Sync cards );

Good question... common wisdom would say to get them paid down if possible, but Synch is said to be most concerned with your TU.

I would think that if you have a strong history and make significant payments that having a sizeable balance shouldn't be a problem, but again they aren't what they used to be so there's no guarantees.

If it were me... unless I 'needed' the CLI right away I would be tempted to simply try it, since a BT will probably have a fee.  If they say 'no' you can always do the BT and try again in a few months, and if they say 'yes' you've saved the BT fee.  My own first Synch CLIs were granted when I had high utilization on my Synch cards, but my limits were also low then so the numbers weren't large, which might make a difference.

If by some chance the BT has no fee, then I would do the BT first.  Also, if you're carrying a promo balance (0%) - which hopefully you are - then I would have to think hard about the BT.

Lots of things to consider, and a lot of YMMV as well... sorry I can't give more concrete info, but hopefully you'll find these considerations helpful.  Smiley Sad

Re: Synchrony Credit Solutions

Hey @_NERD, I've moved our Credit Solutions chatter to a separate thread since we were getting away from the topic of the other one.

Re: Synchrony Credit Solutions

Thanks so much for all the tips I’m copying all the tips I’m getting into notepad to list the things in particular order I’m going to do beginning next week.

How do I tag someone in the mobile site when I respond? I noticed the quote button isn’t on the mobile site from an iOS device. I don’t even know how to tag someone on the desktop site ;(

To quote using mobile you'll have to request the full site in the mobile browser.  I don't have iOS, but I've been told this site does a good job of explaining it:  https://www.idownloadblog.com/2015/09/16/how-to-request-desktop-site-safari-ios-9/

As for tagging, right now it's only turned on for admins, mods, and CLs (community leaders).  I'm hoping that once the bugs are worked out it will be open for more of the community.  Smiley Happy

Thank Goodness UB lol.  When that was happening I can remember a time just looking in the mail for a random blue envelope just because.  Although I do wonder why it calmed down on that front.  Like, why the surge in them doing that then seemingly backing off.  Interesting.
