Hey guys this is a thread for those who are wondering how long certain credit cards take to arrive to your home from day of application. I'm going to share my experience with you guys. If you guys would like to share please do so!
I applied for 3 cards:amex bce, citibank aa gold, and chase amazon prime visa on March 14 Wednesday and received instant approval on all 3.
March 19 Monday arrived my first card: AMEX BCE and Citibank AA t&c (no card)
March 22 Thursday arrived the rest: Citibank AA gold and Chase amazon
So, amex took 3 business days and chase and citi took 6 business days.
Citi is pretty much among the slowest mailing cards across all lenders. Expect 2 weeks with them to receive your card.
My Amex EveryDay was approved evening of Mar 1, the card mailed out on Mar 3 (Saturday) according to the post stamp, arrived at my mailbox on Mar 6. It was pretty fast, although the chip was defective and I had to request a replacement.
Saturday, March 17 - apped and approved for three cards: Discover IT, Amex BCE, and Macy's.
Thursday, March 22 - Disco was first to arrive, in an elegant little presentation folder.
Friday, March 23 - Amex was second to arrive, in a half-mangled overstuffed envelope, but intact inside.
Update: Finally Macy's store card arrived today - Monday, March 26 - along with a letter informing me that I didn't qualify for the the co-branded Amex version, which I didn't want and never asked for! I already have the stand-alone Amex BCE. The reason for declining me: "Insufficient credit experience." However, that decline gets me a free credit report, which I promptly ordered.
The two most recent cards I've obtained were Capital One Quicksilver Visa Signature Rewards and Discover It.
QS Visa - approved January 3rd, received January 6.
Discover It - approved March 12, received March 17 (USPS tracking, special folder).
Let's see, I applied for the AMEX BCP on Sunday March 25th in the evening, instantly approved. I then got a message saying that it was shipped around 6:45AM EST on the 28th. I also applied for Chase Amazon Prime Visa Signature on Saturday the 24th, was approved Monday the 26th., said I would recieve the card within 2 weeks.
EDIT: I got the AMEX BCP in the mail today, 3/31. They initially said 7-10 business days, but looks like it came in less than that.
I'll edit this with arrival date of the Amazon Visa Signature card, I'm in SoCal. It should also depend on where you're located in the country, so maybe include the region too when stating when it arrived.
my barclaycard took about 8 days my discover took 4 days
Application Approval: AMEX & Citi on March 23rd, 2018
Located in IL:
AMEX arrived: March 27th (4 days)
Citi: March 30th (7 days)
They seem consistent with your timing.
Told citi might take 2 weeks to send new cards. Approved on Mar 26, wish in my mail by Apr 4.
I have received cards from Citi in as short as 2 days and as long as 10. Same for every other CC issuer.
It depends on which card, day of week, time you ordered, where they are sent from, where you live, mailing priority. The numbers you get from this post might make a first lotto number but will not have a meaningful pattern. That is why the issuers always say 7-10 days. If it come early, celebrate, if not by 14, panic & call.
3/17 applied for Amex PRG and Delta Gold, received the PRG 3/19 or 3/20. With the Delta Gold arriving 3 days later.
3/24 applied for CSP, still a no show. Which is dissappointing as I was plannig to pay Aprils rent with it to help meet the spend.
7-10 days is definitely a rough guide. lol
Been too long to remember how long my Citi Diamond took, and my BCE arrived withing the week I applied. Amex does seem to be fairly quick about it.
