Yikes, that makes me a bit nervous. I've now got 6 cards with Chase. The latest, an AARP, they seemed to give me reluctantly (not instantly approved, only a $500 limit). They did send a letter stating that I could move or consolidate credit lines to increase the limit on the AARP, which I had already done even before the card showed up in my mailbox. I think I've about tapped Chase out. I've been a cardholder for 24 years though, and their sign-up bonuses have made an upcoming trip to Disney possible, so I have a soft spot for them. I need to tread carefully it seems.
Sucks -- it's happened to others.
The worst part about it for many is that they lost all their banked rewards points and were unable to transfer them out. Not sure if you have any points banked but if so, transfer them ASAP if you can, just in case.
Some threads on it, more than a few mentioning the Ritz was the most recent acquisition!:
One of the "other forums" that talks a lot about Chase closures always asks these questions:
Not sure if any of those pertain to you, but that's some of the frequent reasoning for Chase manual reviews (and closures).
Hopefully your review comes out positive -- you have a high FICO score, low utilization, long age of account history, etc!

If memory serves me right. It seems like back in April/May the folks having issues were those who had recently app’d for the Ritz card. Does the Ritz card undergo some other type of underwriting that other Chase cards. I just find it interesting the the few that I can remember, one of the common denominators were they all seem to had been targeted after apping for the Ritz card.
But it then again, it could have just been a coincidence. Who knows with Chase.
Hey Ghouls! Happy Halloween and her is an update, not sure if this is good or bad. The following accounts I called the regular bot # and before my accounts would go straight to “ Please wait while we transfer your call”. The following accounts went straight to balance, credit limit, etc:
Freedom
United
Amazon (previously blocked)
AARP
Hyatt (previously blocked)
The following accounts transfer me without any information:
Southwest
Marriott
CSP
Ritz (Previously not blocked and now is blocked)
I am not sure what this is but it seems to be getting better, thoughts?

One of the "other forums" that talks a lot about Chase closures always asks these questions:
- Did you transfer UR points to someone with a different address? Different last name?
- Did you sell UR points to someone?
- Approximately what percentage of your charges earned less than 5x points in the past 12 months?
- Did a Chase or non-Chase bank recently close one of your credit cards?
- Are you using up a large percentage of your credit line on all Chase and non-Chase credit cards?
- Is your total credit line with Chase much higher than with other banks?
- Did you apply for many credit cards or other forms of credit in the past 2 months? ("Many" may be hard to define.)
- If you have a Chase checking account how much did you typically deposit in money orders per month, if any?
- Did you recently start spending a lot more with Chase than in typical months?
- Is your monthly balance frequently close to your credit limit?
- Approximately what percentage of spending was on gift cards this year?
- How much of your bill do you typically pay using WM or KMart bill payment if any?
- Do you have a Chase mortgage or other account that might be profitable to Chase?
- Has your credit score or credit profile changed recently? As in: significantly more debt, more open credit lines, or a large drop in your credit score?
Not sure if any of those pertain to you, but that's some of the frequent reasoning for Chase manual reviews (and closures).
Hopefully your review comes out positive -- you have a high FICO score, low utilization, long age of account history, etc!

To clarify she said if you have a certain amount of cards with us you will get a account review across all your cards. If you get an account review all cards are blocked until the review is over . My cards passed the review but didn’t release all my cards .
Possibly, but a good rule is to never take this sort of thing at face value. Security/fraud procedures are not so casually revealed, so while number of Chase cards may well be a factor, there are almost certainly other triggers as well.
But glad you got through it unscathed.
