Yes, I got denied instatnly due to too many inquiries and recently opened accounts.

Yes, he applied and, unfortunately, was not approved

I already have 2 CCs with them but I'm gonna hold off.  My recent newbies would definitely have them go *poof* if I apply.

I see no perk of a getting an amex that is not from centurion bank. Just to use the amex network? Thats not why I have a real amex.

I agree.  But equally if the card has good features, I don't care what network it runs on, including Amex.  For me though, this card doesn't do that.

Yes, I should have applied for Diners. I thought I might have a chance to get approved.

Well there are a variety of different benefits with other AMEX network cards that don't have to be issued from Centurion Bank.  It depends on the affinity product and has nothing to do with it being a member bank-issued AMEX.  Different strokes for different folks.
