I've been funneling everything into United. Should I full steam reverse and start getting Marriott instead? I travel for work 5 times a year, and almost all of my family travel is by car.

Yeah and remember 5th night is free when redeeming points with Marriott. You can get the best bargains by traveling in high season.

Probably best to move them to Marriott when SPG to United is only 2:1 (or 2 to 1.25 with the 25% bonus).
I'm getting math confused. Which is bad, because my job is literally to do math.
I think I'll seperate them for now. Let marriott earn marriott, and united earn united, and I'll figure out about maximizing later.
Addendum: Just switched from miles to points and they gave me a "mega bonus offer" 750 points per night bonus, for every night starting on my 3rd night. I've already got 13 nights booked during the promotion period, so this is wonderful.
