Saren, how did you qualify for membership at Space Age?

They apparently accept people who live in Arapahoe County instead of just the Lowry area if you apply through the Credit Union Match website. It's still a very limited geofence (~650K people live in Arapahoe County) but it's better than it was before where the Lowry neighborhood was something like 10K.
Orion Federal CU is non-geofenced and advertises that their Orion Card is available with a 6.49% variable APR. No rewards, but there is a 0% promo APR on purchases and BT for 6 months.
Dow Chemical Employees' Credit Union, which is not geofenced, offers a card called the Low Rate Visa, with a 6.9% fixed APR.
They also have a different card, called the Rebate Eligible Visa, which has an 8.9% fixed APR, but is eligible for their intriguing program of refunding a portion of the interest paid each year. Their description of this program contains all the disclaimers one would expect, but they say they have paid back about half of the interest their members pay each year recently. If true, that would make this a very attractive card with an effective APR below 5%.
Do any myFICO'ers have experience with this CU and its interest rebates? Are they real?
Who pays interest? That's so 1980's..... lol ![]()

In my experience the best rates are on non-rewards platinum Visa cards from credit unions. My lowest regular APR on a credit card is 7.75%.

Wow, many thanks for the outstanding info about the Low Rate VISA 6.9% F APR card, that is an awesome rate and definitely a keeper if the app I just submitted for it hopefully goes through successfully and if I am approved (fingers crossed)!
I am also very intrigued by the Rebate Eligible VISA card, and may app for that one as well in the near-future, again assuming that the app for the Low Rate VISA card is approved. (The CU told me over chat that that members can app for both cards, but that each one had to be considered as a separate application and they could not be combined as one HP.) Will see how it goes!

Glad to have helped. Good luck with the app! I'm curious which path you used to qualify for membership. Feel free to PM if you'd rather not share publicly.
