Re: Wow USAA is the way to go!

Hi,
I am so glad I saw this.  My husband is retired reserve so I signed us up tonight for their checking & savings account.  I also applied for their credit card, but it didn't give us an answer yet (it said on weekends, off times, the answer could be the next day - I figure we'll be denied - but we will see.  There are so many good products on their site.
Thank you!

Good for you, and I bet you'll get something. They're good people to work with.

Glad I could be of some help basketsbears57.  Good luck getting approved.  They should definitely approve you for something.  They were certainly generous for my situation.

Hang in there until the end. It's not bad news yet, so there is hope. I just wish I could qualify, but I've been out too long. Oh well, NFCU is treating me real nice.

Re: Wow USAA is the way to go!

Hi - Yes they did approve us!  Also after reading all the posts, I wanted to get in their credit union before my husband had been out too long.  Thanks again!  Lynn

Re: Wow USAA is the way to go!

Does anyone know how often you can increase the credit limit for USAA cards?

I love USAA! My husband and I have our auto insurance with them, and a 17k limit Mastercard through them, and we are only 21 and 22! We have decent credit, he is in the mid 600s and I am in the lower-mid 700s. They are fabulous!

Re: Wow USAA is the way to go!

USAA is the greatest by far:

2 auto loans
2 auto insurance policies
2 homeowners policies
1 mastercard
1 amex
1 checking acct
1 savings acct
1 personal property insurance policy
1 renters insurance policy

They are my one stop shop, and have been really good to me for the past 6 years. I also enjoy getting the dividend checks they divy out once a year.

Re: Wow USAA is the way to go!

I am also a witness of the great service that USAA has provided to me for over 10 years.

2 auto loans (6.5% and 6.7% w/620 fico at the time)
2 renter insurance
1 mortgage
1 Mastercard
1 Amex
1 money market account
1 checking
1 savings

I also go through USAA site and get great discounts on rental cars. With all of this said I just joined Navy Federal Credit Union just to get a credit card and it turns out that what USAA lacks in the personal and investment loan department NFCU takes up the slack. Talked to rep and they dont give credit or loans in accordance with your credit score but what your payment pattern has been over the last 3-5 years and income. With USAA and NFCU on my side I will never need to go anywhere else for a loan of any type. So if you can do both please take advantage of the opportunity.
