Thanks
EX.
Hey HTSU!!
Congrats!! That's awesome!!! Quick question (way off topic) but did you ever end up applying for the Costco Amex?? Just curious, because with scores like that, I doubt that you would have a problem with being APPROVED!! ![]()

Thanks! If I do, it will be in January. It's a lot better for AAoA to get subsequent cards in Jan or Feb, rather than Nov or Dec, so that my card would have an opening date of Jan 2008 instead of Dec 2008, eleven months' older.
Still dithering about it, of course. Other than the 2% on restaurants, which I don't normally have on another card, the rewards aren't better (3% gas vs 5% on PenFed, 2% on travel matches a couple of others) than what I currently have. But I like that it's cash back, instead of points. I have a pitiful collection of points on my Blue, and I think I'd rather have a pitiful coupon once a year that I could redeem for cash.
I will need to remember to do something with said pitiful points before closing the Blue...
Thanks to hauling and everyone else here for making this such a breeze. The application process was really smooth; I'll mail the signed printout tomorrow. Yes, there certainly was a hard inquiry on EX, but well worth it, taking both the EX FICO score and the whole credit union experience into consideration.

You're right! They're all starting to blur.

Glad you're in!
You know, silly as it is, I feel like I've been able to make a rude noise back at Experian after they took away our access to our own EX FICO scores. Neener, neener, Experian!
Thanks for the info on this, I just applied last night. I would like to go for the checking account and will apply for the credit card too. How much of a relistic point drop on my score can I expect for these hard pulls? Do you think it would rebound pretty quickly if I got the 20k credit line? I only want the line in case of a emergency as my other lines are low. I just paid off all credit cards, so I"m wondering what kind of score hit I'll get. I'm assuming the hit will be worth it if I can get 20k?
Well, that sucks. The CreditSecure alert caused by the hard inquiry didn't update my EX Plus score. ![]()
