two questions

1. Does anyone have any recommendations for a 3% or higher grocery store card besides AMEX and discover? I can't seem to find any at the moment. I think I came across the consumer credit union card or something, but I think they have high requirements.

2. Has anyone been able to access capital one chat lately? I used to see a popup for it all the time, but now it's almost impossible to get it to show. thanks!

Re: two questions

There is a little chat icon on the left-bottom corner. It say hours available. I haven't seen the pop-up, but I'm rarely there.

Re: two questions

USB has 2 cards that’s I know of that are 3% or greater on groceries.

FlexPerks VISA can give you 3% on groceries.

The Altitude Reserve gives 4.5% on Mobile wallet and most grocery stores now a days accept mobile payments so that’s always an option

Re: two questions

Where do you live? Synovus has a 3% category that you can use on their cards on a permanent basis, but you have to live within their footprint

NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

If you're eligible for NFCU their More Rewards Amex is 3% cash back on groceries and gas, but there's a $50 threshold for redemptions that turns some people off.  (I realize you asked for other than Amex and Discover, but I'm assuming you meant other than Amex/Centurion... apologies if I'm mistaken.)

Not sure about Capital One chat... I've not seen it in a while myself; hopefully the previously provided advice applies.

Hey Tire guy, how do you live within their "footprint". Does one have to be Antman?  Smiley Wink

Maybe - Depending on where you live.

The Bank of the West - Cashback MC

3% cash-back for (Gas, Grocery, Restaurant, and Fast-Food)

Have excellent credit but got a very good 20k starting CL.

Re: two questions

Synovus has selectable category cards which let you pick groceries for 3%. They are available in AL, FL, GA, SC, and TN.

Re: two questions

I concur about Bank of the West Cash Back World Mastercard.  It's a staple of my wallet and I use it in tandem with any category card that offers a higher percentage on one of the three categories during the quarter (along with a 2% cash back card for everything else).  There's some minor quirks, like they only issue statements in the mail (no online statements...in 2018!) and cash back is rewarded as a statement credit quarterly (automatically).  Also, it may be geographically restricted.  For the most part, it's a great and underrated card for everyday spend.

I wish there were more cards that offered better rewards on groceries (3% or higher), but they're few and far between.
