Re: Are you SURE that you want to app? Here's why you only app after a LOT of thought...

Makes me wish that I knew my scores before late Nov. Then I would know what effect my app spree had on my scores. I have 11 new TL's and 20 new inq's since 11/20/07. I did not get SW until 1/29/08. While my score did drop 7 points day after i got it, it is now up 22 points from the original 627 to a 659. Only 3 of my 28 inq's fall off this year and 2 next Feb. but by then all will be a year old. Can't wait to see the score increase that will come from the inq's and new accounts ageing a year.  Also my all my lates will be another year older if I can not get them removed.

I guess it is time for a little credit gardening my self.

Thanks for the sharing Hauling.  I haven't been as meticulous in predicting the outcome of apping but I have be very careful to app for cards that fit my needs and my credit profile. I did lose 9 points on EQ when I opened my last card this month only to regain 9 point two days later. I did make sure that I apped just as my year old accounts aged. I guess it worked. I'm getting the hang of the credit gardening and posts like yours help a great deal.  I'm looking forward to hearing when your scores begin to rebound.

So am I! Smiley Very Happy

Seriously, though, I think in my case, it will take longer than the typical 3-4 months for score recovery. But I'm still trying to nail down reporting dates, etc., so I can figure out who gets how much money when. I guess I'll just see how it all shakes out.

I wish I could get my weight to drop as briskly as my average age did! Smiley Wink

Lucky for me my scores are already looooooow!  So what's a few more points for a few more accounts?  Orchard, CJ, BofA (finally took my money yay!).  Luckily my average age for my credit is young anyways at around 2 years (Oldest being Crap1 at 4 in May), so even though 3 new accounts will shorten it, it won't shrink it much from what it was anyways.

Now with those 3 accounts I'll just sit back for a bit because I don't think I'm going to find anything else decent for my scores aside from a WF secured card - but I'll consider that later after these have grown some and I see how they effect me.

I'm sure you'll make it back up there soon HTSU Smiley Happy
Patience and time is all ya need!  (boooo to that haha)
