Authorized user

Hello everyone.. Just wondering if Capital one will add authorized user into to ones credit report if they have their credit reports frozen? They already have an relationship with capital one. The card was activated, but hasn't been used. Different name, and address.. They also asked for ssn..
Any advice on if one needs to unfreeze credit reports for the account to show.
Thanks in advance

Is "they" the prospective AU?  What kind of prior relationship does the AU have with Cap One?  If it is simply a savings or checking account, then Cap One is not a creditor of that person.  If the AU has a loan or credit card (in his name) then Cap One would be a creditor.

The card was activated, but hasn't been used.

Is this the original card (not the AU card) having been recently been activated by the account holder?

Or do you mean that the AU card has arrived and has been activated?

Clarifying the questions above may help others answer your question about the need to unfreeze.

Re: Authorized user

Hello..
The person has a credit card with capital one already.. Have been a card holder for over 1 year. They have a cap 1 quicksilver and neiman marcus that's backed by capital one. Also a checking account with capital one. And the authorized user card was activated..
Just wondering how long before in show on their profile. Or do they need to unfreeze 1st..

Re: Authorized user

A frozen profile prevents HP from existing relationships and SP/HP from new institutions, it does not prevent any reporting, new or old relationships, to the CRAs, or else everyone can just freeze the profile to prevent new collections from reporting. If for some reason the AU is not reporting, it will have nothing to do with a frozen file.

Re: Authorized user

Thank you for clarifying that for me. Maybe it'll take a few weeks or months to report.
