Bye bye NFCU, hello PENFED

I got on the NFCU train last year. Heard so many great things about them. The only thing I liked was the customer service and mobile app. They were not BK friendly to me at all. I got fed up when I couldn't even get financing for a used car. So I'm closing all my accounts. I opened a checking/savings at PENFED. Got approved for $500 CLOC and pre approved for an auto loan for $25k. I got denied for the Gold card but I knew that would happen. I was told to recon with them ASAP which I will do tonight. So happy, never looking back at NFCU ever again. 🍷 here's to new beginnings!

Re: Bye bye NFCU, hello PENFED

Congrats on joining PenFed 👍

But IMO there's no reason to go about burning bridges, especially with very decent to outstanding institutions that issue money/credit...life is a LONG time, things change, opportunities knock, doors open and close..

No offense to anyone but unlike most of American culture, this is where Sister-Wives is absolutely the way to go...ONE Dane partner, just 1 wife = No way

I'm 'with' both Navy (love her) and PenFed ( she ain't going nowhere) and for good measure ( and options) USAA gets some of Daddy too😎

Look a $5 deposit keeps the Navy membership and account open WHY for the love of all that is holy would one NOT keep that seat warm, just in case

It's not like, she might not EVER have something attractive enough to revisit the relationship, nobody does it ALL perfectly, nobody's gonna be perfect for every situation and scenario for the rest of one's LIFE, that's why IMO it's best to have more than one WIFE

( Ladies, just 'flip' it around...it works the same for you
One for trash duty
Another to fix the plumbing
Perhaps a 3rd for the other plumbing...it meant in the other bathroom 😱 calm down 😉)

Congrats on Penfed coming through for you. I'm not eligible for Navy Fed but am with Penfed and have been very happy with them.

But I wouldn't be in any rush to close your Navy Fed accounts, they're an excellent CU and very hard to join if you're not active/former military. I suggest you keep your accounts with them and give them a little more time to come through for you.

Re: Bye bye NFCU, hello PENFED

I was approved with EQ 663, they ended up pulling them twice. Checking, savings, CLOC, auto loan pre approved $25k @10.3%. 14 months out from a BK7.

FYI, Penfed will use the credit pull for membership for unsecured loans (CLOC, CC's) for at least 30 days, sometimes longer. But the different departments for secured loans (auto, real estate) require their own credit pull. The car loan was why you got the 2nd hard pull. So if you want to try for a CC you should not get another HP.
