Chase Reporting Zero Balance Mid Cycle

Hey everyone. Ive tried to find this answer searching the forums and on google but cant find an answer to my specific question.

I had a chase card that reported a high balance. I have read once you pay it off to 0 they will automatically update the information sent to the credit bureaus.

I paid in full today, but had pending charges. So after the day, no my balance on my 9k limit is 143.23. The statement balance is 0. So will it report 0 since the statement balance was paid off or do I have to make an additional payment of the balance to bring it to 0 again now that the pending charges posted. Thanks for any answers. Closing on my first house/triplex in a few weeks and want to lock in the best terms possible.

As long as you paid the Statement Balance (the amount reported to the credit bureaus last Statement Close), the update will be report the new balance as zero on the date the payment was made. You can ignore the pending charges even though it shows in your account.

I agree with @Anonymous that you're probably good to go, but if you're not going to pull your report to verify, I would pay the pending charges too, just to be on the safe side, in view of the imminence of your closing.

Re: Chase Reporting Zero Balance Mid Cycle

Hey guys. Quick update to anyone who is ever curious. I called customer service and they said once the balance is 0 they will automatically refresh it. But she asked if I wanted to just refresh it instead of having to pay the additional 143. She said she would have it refresh today. Great customer service. Asked Citi to do something similar about a year ago and they told me they couldn’t. Impressed with their customer service after today. Hope it helps someone in the futurw
