Inquiry questions

Using CreditCheckTotal, I see

  • 0 TU inquiries
  • 2 EQ inquiries
    • one from an AVIS rental, arrrgggghhhh - I was trying to be all Dave Ramsey and not use credit and it cost me an inquiry.
    • the other from a car loan, date of inquiry is 4/21/07.  that means this should fall off soon.  does that mean it will miraculously be gone on 4/22/07?   Yes, i know I need to chill out.  I'm just excited.
  • 1 EX inquiry - but it's an inquiry from Experian.  Why does that show up?  It shouldn't count against me should it?  I thought credit bureau pulls where soft pulls and therefore shouldn't show up?

Other question:  I just paid off a credit card (yeah me!) and the glorious new balance is updated already on EQ & EX but not yet on TU.  Any rhyme or reason as to when TU updates or do they do it when they bloody well feel like it?  I'm anxious to see it gone, gone, gone.

Many questions!

Thanks to all.

Re: Inquiry questions

The inquiry from April 2007 may not fall off until the end of the month. It isn't affecting your score right now anyhow.

There should be no inquiry from EX. What does it say?

TU updates at different times, just depends on how slow they are. They were last in updating my accounts this month, but have updated.

Re: Inquiry questions

Tu is always the last to update for me as well. (EXAMPLE) I paid off my Best Buy card to a 0 balance on 3/2/09 and Tu has yet to update. I have called Best Buy to try to expedite the update and they say they update the day the statement cuts but ive yet to see it on Tu. This happens to me all the time with Tu only. It also seems to me when I have a 0 balance reporting it takes 1-2 billing cycles to report a 0 balance.

Re: Inquiry questions

TU has finally updated, hoorah.

As for the inquiry, my CreditCheckTotal report shows this under the Experian column when I go to the "Credit Inquiries" tab:

EXPERIAN BUSINESS CREDIT

Credit Bureaus

10/22/2007

I'm racking my brain to think what I may have done in Oct '07 - the only thing I can think of is that I opened a business checking account with Chase - for the free $100, don'tcha know Smiley Wink.  Can't recall if that was in Oct but I can find out and it's the only thing that stands out.

Might that have been it?

Re: Inquiry questions

Ya, I would say so.

The inquiry is over a year old, I wouldn't worry about it. It'll be gone before ya know it.
