Since credit karma don't count and is not a true factor to most ppl .. who should i follow or who keeps the results and progression I should be looking for?
You can use CreditKarma to keep track of progress and changes in your credit reports.
The scores offered by CK (Vantage 3.0) is what should be ignored.
Most lenders use FICO scores which can be purchased from several companies (including this site). @AllZero will likely stop by shortly with links to companies that offer a more reasonable price for score tracking.
Fico is the standard scoring system but there are many versions that are used. The score that matters is the one that is used by the creditor or lender you are trying to apply with. While VantageScore 3 is not widely used, data points suggest Synhrony is relying & referencing them on more & more approvals/denials. Another example is that Fico 9 isn't used for mortage lending decisions...Fico 5 is a common one. It's a tricky question you ask...
$1 you can obtain your 3 bureau FICO 8 scores and reports at Experian or CreditCheckTotal (part of Experian). Cancel in 7 day or less to avoid the re-occurring monthly charge. Wash, Rinse, and Repeat as needed.
