Barclays: January 2019, Pulled TU; provided F8 score on the acceptance letter.
Citi: April 2019, Pulled EX only
Chase: August 2019, Pulled both EX and TU

I'm in New Mexico if that helps.

Thanks for the notes @Drwaz99! For your Chase app I see you noted TU - this is something very out of character. If you don't mind, what card was that application for? I've updated the matrix regarding Barclays and them using the F8 vs F9.

It was for my Freedom Unlimited.

just curious, how do you get that  many cards at one time?  Is it an accumlation of cards of a  long period of time?  I  would like to do that one day!  Smiley Happy

Re: The "Which Banks Pull Which Report For Apps" list

@babbles, this was over a span of 3 to 4 years. I’ve had many more cards but it’s a process of phases.

You start off with your entry level cards (low or no cashback/points) and slowly move into low rewards cards (1% or 1.5%). Then as I would get mid-rewards cards (1.5% to 3%) I’d start closing the entry level. Then once I got good rewards (3% - 6%) I’d start closing out low rewards, etc.

I have about 25 personal and 5 business cards open now, but my report shows like 40-50 closed card accounts too (all in good standing). The ones I really don’t want get SD to at least 1 year. I plan to keep about 6-7 of my really old cards because of aging.

Yes, I know a closed account doesn’t stop its aging and goes up to 10yrs, but I’d like some old open ones to show some tenure so when I’m applying for new ones I don’t look like I’m exclusively churning.

I didn’t start out with this plan, I learned the hard way for about a year then found this site and became very strategic - knowing which reports put my best foot forward and matching that to banks I know would pull them. You also beef up on knowing the sensitivity level of different banks and when you pull all that info together you’ll know when to pull the trigger for certain banks, increasing approval chances to about 90-95%, at least that’s how it worked out for me. Some folks take different approaches, but this was mine.

The only place I ever saw EQ for BBVA was this thread, so thats why I asked. I've always saw EX.

I called and after transferring to 4 different departments they claim EX, but we know how well CSRs are informed,,,supposedly a CA, but who knows. Guess YMMV.

@Birdman7 I've never banked with them. Oddly the posts in Approvals show EX heavily but the denials show EQ Smiley Tongue it's gotta be a regional thing, but for safe measure I've updated the matrix to reflect they lean more towards EX and then possibly EQ. As these banks changes things we'll just need to keep up Smiley LOL

In March I got the BBVA Clear Points Visa, responding to a mailer with pre-approval code, they pulled EX. In April I opened a checking account with them an moved a DD to it for a $250 banking SUB. In July I was and the teller, who turned out to be a sale manager, talked me into app'ing for their Rewards Visa. I told her I needed to unlock EX on my phone, approved after I unlocked it. So only EX in Arizona.

Thanks @ImTheDevil. Quick question, did you apply via the prequal link or a regular cold app?
