Go to annualcreditreport.com and pull your TU report and go over it with a fine tooth comb. CK has hiccups all the time. Then you'll know.

I tried but it wasn't letting me see it online, some technical issue. Regardless I called TransUnion and spoke to somebody who told me that all of my accounts are still active and showing. Isn't that enough?

My question is how to get credit karma to fix this. And why it is showing that 3 accounts are closed. And do I really need to even use credit karma at all anyways? What are they good for?

No you don't really need to use it. Generally Ck is good for seeing faster updates to things happening on your EQ and TU credit reports, inquires, reporting etc... but this thread seems to be throwing that idea out the window... Perhaps just a glitch with CK and it will get straightened out in the coming weeks as your accounts report to the CRAs.

Thats directed to me. The only one who answered before your post. If any vanatge sites dont work. Go to ACR. But we didnt know the OP couldnt get into TU.

@FireMedic1 sorry for the confusion but wasn't directed at you... was in reference to CK being  faster, or fairly dependable... or in other words...  not so much.

Re: What is going on with my Credit Karma account?

can you make a transunion account directly? Free daily reports directly from transunion every 24 hours.

https://service.transunion.com/dss/login.page

also try to see if Capital One's Credit Wise is exhibiting the same behavor with your TU file

Update for all:

I filled out Credit Karma's online help support and got an email from someone who works at CK. The person told me that my Equifax shows all the accounts active but the TransUnion report shows them all closed except for my Rent reporting.

Here's the thing, my rent reporting is only reported to Equifax as far as I know not TransUnion or Experian. And I called TU again this morning after I got the email from CK and told the representative what CK is claiming. She pulled up my recent credit report from today November 7th and told me that ALL accounts are ACTIVE and not closed. She also told me she doesn't have anything showing from rent reporting. And I checked Creditwise this morning and it is showing 3 accounts all active with only a $12 balance.

So obviously CK is wrong right? There is some kind of glitch which is causing them to tell me my accounts are closed all of a sudden. I emailed the CK person back and told him that the accounts are all active and not closed according to TU. I haven't gotten a reply back.

But bottom line everyone is I don't have to worry right? I hope it gets fixed but who knows.

you should be able to pull your TU report either from ACR or from TU directly, that's the only way you're going to be able to find out what is actually being reported on your report currently.

Everywhere else is just pulling that information from TU directly and stuff gets lost in translation and isn't always perfectly accurate.

MyFico can be wrong, Credit Karma can be wrong, Capital One can be wrong, the only official source is your actual report which you should be able to access either from ACR or TU directly. You can even get one mailed if you can't get it online.

I haven't been able to access my TU report online in a few days. There's some technical problems and it's been escalated to their maintenance team to get it fixed. But if Creditwise shows the accounts active today and the rep from TU told me she sees the accounts active and nothing closed - shouldn't I be confident that CK is wrong?

Something is going on there for sure. The last couple of times I've tried to get my TU report from both ACR and TU, it gives me an error message and asked me to call or request by mail. Meh. I just tried again today and got the messages again, because they are slow with updating Chase for me. CK is still reporting something from 35 days ago.

Glad I'm not the only one. I just tried to view my credit reports online from Annual Credit Report and got the same error message - do it by mail or phone so I did it on the phone. Was told I should expect it in 15 days smh. By then hopefully everything will be fixed. At least I hope so.

And I am less than impressed with Credit Karma after this mess.
