Well I was fully planning on staying in the Garden Club for a year, but Microsoft just announced details on the Xbox Series X and some improvements to Game Pass...both are included for a nice subscription price of $35 per month, for 24 months. This is done on the backend through a 0% LOC by Citizens One. The terms are here (I think).
Does anyone know if it possible to have this account persist beyond the Xbox financing term? Are there any ill effects I'm missing beyond the obvious inquiry and new account ding? To me, it looks like if you were planning on buying the console and also subscribing to Game Pass, it is a win win.
The price breakdown I'm seeing is:
- Xbox Series X $499
- Game Pass Ultimate $14.99 * 24 = $359.76
= $858.76
vs
-Xbox All Access Financing $839.76
Not sure on how taxes are factored in for the Xbox itself under the financing plan, but saves $20 (not much, lol) and spreads it over two years at 0% which I'm always on board with.
To kinda give another option, apparently the Live to Ultimate conversion for $1 thing is still going on, so I could get Xbox Live Ultimate for 24 months for $95.99 by buying the two year sub at Costco for $94.99 and then converting for $1 through Microsoft.
So $500 + 96 is even cheaper and probably what I'd do.
Now just to see what Sony does for their pricing!
Personally I wouldn't come out of the garden to simply buy an XBox, i would merely call up Discover and ask for a 0% promo then buy it. If that wasn't available I'd go to the next card or the next until I found one that would. If i couldn't get a 0% promo APR then I'd charge it to an Amex card an use Plan It. It's likely to be lower rate than what they're charging to finance on LOC. And I'd be earnig rewards with my Credit Card, what do you earn with All Access Financing?
This is not an account that would show up on your credit reports. The only way it would is if it went into collections. It's financing thru Citizens One, just like Apples Upgrade Program. Same as getting a phone thru say T-Mobile or sprint. There's no new account, nothing reports unless you go delinquent and there's def no hard pull. They'll do a soft inquiry just like mobile carriers.
Let me take one thing back, MIGHT BE A HARD PULL.

Yeah the wording says hard pull if you're approved which is nice, like the Apple Card but it otherwise seems like it might report.
Yeah, might be a hard pull. But you can call citizens. Im positive it's not reporting tho.
Interesting. This is a purchase I planned on making for my son this holiday season. I'd be curious to hear from anyone who has used this LOC in the past regarding your experiences with it.
Well, with the prices of consoles pretty much doubling or tripling what I used to buy them for, I can see how having financing for such purchases may be needed going forward. The fact thsat it's a hidden TL is a nice bonus as it will not affect UT etc. Obviously a HP but those age off in time so no real damage here.
My only question would be it it is meant only for one transaction of if it could be used again in the future for the ext gen model? As I didn't really ready anything definitive one way or the other. That said i suppose it doesn't really matter if it doesn't show up on CR's because there's no age thing to worry about each time one is opened, on the HP.
