Anyone else have this issue with Paypal?

I made a purchase earlier this week and used my Paypal account for payment since it was convenient.  I have a rewards credit card set as the "preferred" method of payment and have used it for several purchases prior to this one with no issues.   I also have a checking account which I used years ago when working with Ebay, which I no longer do.  For some reason, Paypal decided to use my checking account for payment with my "preferred" method of payment as the "backup."  Since I do not have any real use for Paypal, I closed my account and sent a letter expressing my frustrations.  (Being on hold for hours or messaging that does not have a real person responding does not work for me).  I am sure they could care less about losing me, but I realize there are others on this site who use their service quite regularly.  Not sure if others have been effected, but beware........

I had this happen to me many years ago. Ever since I'll remove a card/bank account the moment after I use it. I do Not trust paypal.

I had my CF set up to pay through paypal key and for about a month my bills weren't processing.

Now it seems to be fixed but still it was a lot of hassle. Screwed up one of my legacy bills too.
