I applied for Navy Federal CU and got a denial. Very empty empty email that said I was denied in whole or in part of the information provided. The reply email was SecurityAppeals@navyfederal.org. From the email address, I assume they have a question about my personal information. I went through their membership qualification secontion and answered the questions truthfully. I got the "You're Qualified!" screen. So, it can't be for that reason.
However, If it is personal info, why not just say, "Your app is pending upon further investigation. Please give us a call."? They just flat out denied it. lol
I am currently a member of NASA FCU and have probably paid a small fortune in intereste on their credit cards and my rewards points still don't amount to enough to get ANYTHING. THeir point earnings structure is horrid. I'm also prepping for a good auto loan rate in the future. It was between Navy and Penfed.
My profile is excellent. No baddies, low DTI, and i haven't burned any banks with bad checking or savings activity. Anyone else get this cryptic email and was able to appeal the denial?

Honestly, I have never heard of such a vague denial email, i would call and follow up with a live person as soosn as possible. Have yktried this already?
I am sorry to hear this. I applied over the phone as well as 5 other family members. Their membership process is pretty straight forward, as you may already have experienced. Call them on the phone! The only thing better that I can suggest is to apply in branch if this is an identification issue.
Do you happen to have your credit files locked or frozen?

Not at all.

I got the denial email late last night. I will call today.
As Credit4Growth suggested, call them and ask. There could for example have been some kind of internal mixup on their part or bogus cruft floating around that you aren't aware of.
I would call and ask about it. I don't have experience with NFCU, but I had issues with getting approval for membership with both SDFCU and PenFed recently. In both cases, the problem was due to identity and/or address verification because I am an expat. And in both cases, customer service was very helpful in getting it resolved.
I've heard good things about NFCU, and I'm guessing they can at least let you know more precisely what's going on.

Sorry to hear about the membership issue. FWIW I have a zillion family members who are with Navy but when I applied for membership I was denied as well. I called and was transferred to the security department and had to email a letter and include a selfie, my license, social security card and write my signature three times as well as provide a statement asking that a password be added to my membership if approved. It took a day or two to straighten out but it was all good after that. Everyone in my family joined in 5 minutes on the phone easy-peasy but I'm always the troublemaker lol!
Fingers crossed that it's just an ID verification for you. Please let us know!
Good lord! lol Thank you for your DPs Leilani. Love the name by the way!
It may be an address thing. I live in an unincorporated part of the county and the zip comes up different than my town name. So, a lot of official docs may say one thing when I put down another. But if you google my address, you get the same house with two different town names. lol I'm thinking that whoever is looking at the app could easily verify that. Unless I got denied by AI.
