@butterpecan I reviewed my Chex System report Discover did pull Chex. My scenario is different than yours I have been a Discover credit card customer for 33 years in September and banking customer for 10 to 15 years. I added the checking account in May 2020. I do not remember Discover asking about pulling a credit report when I opened the checking account. This may be due to the extablished relationship that I have with them. You could start the process and see if they ask to pull the credit report or not. If they do you could cancel the process. Just a thought. Whatever your decision is replacing B of A may the new bank or credit union be the best fit for your banking needs.
Footnote: When I was doing the research for American Consumer Council post I cannot tell you how many credit unions I started the opening account process to make sure that was an option.
Thank you, and I will have to read that post as well. Discover has a very good reputation congratulations on such a long term relationship with them. I plan on looking into them and a few others.
