Was Target/TD Bank ever resolved? Were they willing to delete after you paid?
UPDATE...
Long time, no talk. The last time I pulled my reports was in October, and I have my subscription paused until May. In Oct, all my COs were still on my reports but showed no balances - Chase, Citi, and everyone else I had paid updated their reporting to $0 balances. I had disputed my Comcast collection, but it came back verified and remains on my report (according to CK). I disputed Credit One as well - that also came back verified, however I don't see it on either report on CK.
In response to jhoney: no, they won't delete - TD Bank is reporting as closed/$0 balance owed.
I chose not to pursue the SDFCU card for the time being. My secured NFCU card graduated in Dec to the usual $2,000 limit... I thought that thing would never graduate, so I'm grateful. I bought a new (to me) Explorer back around Oct - I chose to finance a chunk of the price - Capital One approved me for about 10%, which I thought was pretty cool, seeing as my reports were so ugly a year prior. On a whim, I applied for a new Target Red Card last month... I was instantly approved for $400. Around that time, I also applied for a new Kohls card: approved for $300. My Capital One card is still sitting at $500. My second NFCU card is almost maxed out right now (long story...).
I think that's about it for now. I don't know where my scores are at right this second, and that's ok. I'll know in a couple of months. Somewhere down the line, I'd like to get a loan to start building my dream home, but I'm in no rush. I had goals of settling my debts, getting some decent cards, and getting a new vehicle - all of which I've accomplished! I highly recommend starting a rebuild thread of your own - even tho I haven't posted as often as time has gone on, it has held me accountable and I've felt obligated to come back and update from time to time. It's also empowering to see where I was compared to where I am now, and just watching my overall debt go down. If I can think of anything of importance to add, I'll come back and add onto this thread... otherwise, I think my rebuild journey has come to an end for now. This is one of my favorite quotes, and it motivated me when I felt like I wasn't making much progress with this credit stuff (it also helped me get thru college!): "Never give up on a dream because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway." - Earl Nightingale
Thank you for sharing I just found it and read all your posts in it, good job!
I just read through the entire thread. Thank you for sharing your story/adventure. What a read!!! Congrats on all the success. Your patience and persistence has paid off!!!
Thank you for the response. It sounds like despite their refusal to delete you're doing great. This gives me hope that as long as I stay focused on what I can control there will be progress. Thank you 😊
