"Suuure your card is damaged. There's nothing suspicious at all about reports of "lost" or "damaged" cards being up 3158% this month."
Cap One already knows this song & dance. They've been through it before with the Venture card.
I was about to say the same thing. Most banks will issue new metal cards for existing card holders when they introduce a metal card. Not Capital One. You have to request it from Capital One via the "lost" or "damage card" procedure and hope you get a metal one.

Capitol One Savor is now metal
I just wanted to share a quick update/DP related to my original approval post (below).
A few weeks after receiving my metal Savor, I added my daughter as an AU. Today, her card arrived an it too is 17 grams of metal.
Hope this helps someone wondering 😊
Just recieved mine today. I requested a replacement since Capital One finally fixed my card skin on the dashboard from a Quicksilver. Pretty nice addition to my wallet!

And is it the metal version?

@JaseT wrote:After hearing about the SNAZZY SAVOR in metal, I called Cap One and ordered a replacement card through their automated system. It arrived yesterday in all its plastic glory. Got on the online chat and asked the rep if they could send me a metal card and he said, "Sure!" Supposed to be here within a week. We shall see what shows up!
One practice I really don't like is banks sending out credit cards that are already activated and ready to use. I prefer having to activate the card myself for obvious reasons!
ETA: My Savor was a Plat upgrade and is grandfathered in with the no-AF group.
Just an update: It's been a week since I requested the metal Savor via chat, and no card has arrived and I never received an email notice that it had even shipped. I opened another chat and asked about it, and they don't show that a metal card was ever sent out. Then the rep wanted to claim a card was lost/stolen ( which it wasn't) so I asked why and they gave me to another chat rep. She realized that it wasn't a lost card issue and said I had to call in to an Account Specialist and that she would note the account to make it easier when I called. Just got off the phone and the really nice rep told me that she could see all of the chat notes and apologized that the original chat rep last week didn't take care of it. She said a metal card (with the same account #) would be sent out and I will have it in 4-6 days.
Tune in next week for the continuing saga!
Update! Another Savor card arrived today and it is...METAL! Woohoo! Thanks to the CSR who actually knew what she was doing! I recommend calling in (actually speak to a rep) and not trying via chat to get the metal card. One thing of note - the chip is much larger in this card. The chip in my metal Venture card is the usual size, so not sure why this one is so much larger.
Now it's time for the Quicksilver to be issued in metal! Maybe they can revamp the card and make it 2% CB and charge an AF - but grandfather all of us with the card now. Make it so Cap One!

I’m fine with that, but even before they make it metal/AF I’d love it if they could flip the design around so the stupid chip isn’t on the wrong side (compared to almost every other card in the world).
I always end up swiping it incorrectly because my muscle memory is so used to taking out and swiping my others cards the normal way.
That said, I do believe Cap1 had the right idea with the design (it feels more natural looking closer), but it’s just not the norm, so it’s ultimately a bad decision.

It might overlap too much with Spark and Venture...cards that charge an AF for 2%, but also offer big cash/travel cash bonuses.
I agree the chip is in a funny place on QS, but I expect it's more intuitive than some of Citi's old magnetic-strip-on-the-front designs.
I should have my replacement [damaged] Savor arriving in the next day or two and I'll be sure to let you all know if it's metal or not.
There IS metal CapitalOne cards. I just got my Venture Card (Visa Signature) today in the mail & there is absolutely no question whatsoever that it’s metal. I suppose maybe not everyone gets a metal card, regardless, the fact is there ARE metal Capital One cards. I didn’t realize how heavy these cards are.
