I'm a financial aid specialist at a college. Right now my main role is student loan processing, but I've done all aspects: verification, return specialist, disbursement and reconciliation...you name it. Started as front line staff and worked my way up (after quitting a teacher credentialing program I went into after getting my degree in liberal arts). Fifteen years and counting. I enjoy the pace, processing, troubleshooting students' issues, finding system and procedure problems and fixing things.

Interesting. I would imagine that would give you some inside perspective into the credit world.

To earn my sustenance I work as a forensic anthropologist with the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago Illinois. I gig Brazilian jazz in a quartet by night in various cabarets around the city. I gave up gigolo work after the Chicago outfit attempted to shake me down for protection money ....

Re: What do you do for a living?

I have a BBA and MBA in Finance.   For many years I had an active CPA liscense. I have a limited g/c license.  I have done a lot of different things operated a small chain of gift shops, partner in a regional CPA firm.  I worked in federal law enforcement for about 15 years and retired on disability in mid level management.   That was my favorite job.  My wife owns a mid sized real estate brokerage and I sell some and do the office accounting .   I am also involved with several fix and flip ventures.  I have moonlighted some at CPA firms and  big box stores  when everything slows dowm to nothing.  In 2008/2009  I worked for the state doing foreclosure prevention classes.   DW and I are retirement age and will retire in a few more years.
