Re: August 2024 Check-In Thread

Another day and another dollar.

Applied to close a bank and credit union as they do not offer services I use any more. Opened a credit union close to home and took another hard inquiry. Five years of no inquirys to activity. Credit profile is showing the damage. May never see Fico 08 at 850 again!

On the other hand, in many cases it is really irrelevant! Most of you know this. Yes, I am whinning!

Three major credit bureaus match on data and scores are close. The new Vantage 04 seems to be creeping in. Also, I read that Fico 10 is being ushered in but, it will be a slow go while financials experience the effects. Credit seems like a keep us in the dark and feed us a lot of BS ...

Until next month, I shall try to head off the "grim reaper" ... Smiley Happy

Re: August 2024 Check-In Thread

Joining this month as well.

Resisted all urges to apply since I added 4 new cards in the last 1.5 months. Let all except NFCU report balance. Will end up reducing the amount of cards I let report in coming months to let FICO rise a smidge.

Going to request a CLI on Amex BCE here pretty soon... going to shoot for $12-15k CL on it (current: $6k)...will put TCL just under $100k.

I've got a large transaction coming soon that will be put on all my new cards to work toward their SUBs...will be paid off via autopay when statement cuts. Keep up the good work everyone and see y'all on next month's thread!

Gardening since 05 July 2024
Total Revolving CL: $92.5k
Inquiries: (as of 05 July 2024)
EX: 1/6, 2/12
EQ: 3/6 (2 auto), 4/12
TU: 1/6, 2/12

Re: August 2024 Check-In Thread

Hello, everyone!

My scores have been acting a little strange recently. No change on my EX8 (still at 735) or EQ9 (still at 752) but my EQ8 shot up to 751.

Re: August 2024 Check-In Thread

Hello, checking in.  My goal, which I set through Chase Credit Journey, is to have a score of 721, using Experian Vantage3, by 5/20/25.  My current score is 706, so it has barely moved.   (My Experian FICO 8 score is 708,  and TransUnion FICO 8 is 713. My Equifax FICO 9 is 730.)  My current usage is 39%, but this doesn't reflect some recent payments.  According to Chase, as soon as my second highest balance card drops below 50%, then my score should jump.  I am hoping to report next month that I have reached my goal.

Re: August 2024 Check-In Thread

I might as well start doing check-ins since I lurk so much.  I'm currently stuck in the garden after running into several denials - denied CCC CLI, denied Cash+ CLI, denied Attune card.  My scores are currently the best they've ever been since I started rebuilding, but at 5/24 I have too much velocity for skittish lenders in the current tense economic environment.

I plan on doing absolutely nothing, not even CLI attempts, until February when I become 0/12 and 3/24 on new accounts.  Totally just shame me if I try to leave the garden before then. Smiley Very Happy
