Re: I am still not understanding FICO 8's Logic

One credit card reported a balance increase of $127 to all 3 bureaus. All 3 Bureaus prompty deducted 6 FICO points. My balance went from $0 to $127 with $42,000 in CLs, meaning my total util is less than 1%.

Last month it went the other way - my Util went from $5 to $0 and I gained 6 points.

Given that util is so low, why would such a small increase or decrease result in such a proportionately large score swing?  My paid off mortgage and paid off installment loan have not yet reported, so that would not be a reason.

You seem to be associating the score changes with specific events, but there is not necessarily any connection.

The only reason you're alerted about dormant cards use is because of identity monitoring on paid CMS.

It's a non event scoring wise, but if it coincides with another event that is...that's how myths are born

FWIW, that’s what I believe as well Remedios, but I never mind looking into the possibilities just for the hay of it.

This

Dormant card notifications are something that you can set in your myFICO account, you can specify how long a card needs to be "dormant" for before the alert is triggered

I knew you could do it in Experian I wasn’t aware or you could also do I in MF. Good info.

@AI_JMV Would you mind giving us the details of your situation? How long was that Card inactive? What are your profile stats? Like Remmy I have received alerts for a dormant card being used without score change, but if that's coming from Experian, that's an adjustable function in EX where you can choose how long if I recall correctly.

Hi.. I have 14 open revolving and charge accounts. At the time, the card was inactive for over 6 months at least in terms of reporting.  Any other data points I can help with, let me know.

Re: I am still not understanding FICO 8's Logic

@AI_JMV thank you for responding. Yes if possible, age of your oldest account, age of your youngest revolver, whether you have any open or closed loans on file, and did you see a fico score change across all three bureaus?

What CMSs are you using? Do you have before and after reason codes? That would be very interesting considering you're in a dirty card on two bureaus and a clean card on the other!

Congratulations, look forward to July it's going to be good! Why is your TU score so close to the others if the BK has dropped off TU? Are there any other derogatories on your record?

Re: I am still not understanding FICO 8's Logic

@Anonymous  I truly believe TU hates me, and that is why lol. Actually, it's because I have 3 less accounts reporting on TU, so it's a thinner file than EQ and EX, and also they are still reporting a paid collection from my BK dismissal (it's no longer attached to the BK because I dismissed the BK after filing, so they turned into Charge Offs, which I ultimately paid.)  Question tho.. do you think I can still ask for those to be removed, since they were once associated with my BK? I didn't think I could, and they no longer say "BK Dismissed", but rather "Collection/Charge Off/Dismissed" Would love to know whether I could dispute them now that the BK is off.   I attached a screenshot. I had to pay it off in 2018 to close on my mortgage.

OK, let me see if I can get through everything...

AooA: 15 years, AOYR: 1 yr, 4 months; recently have one auto loan closed as PIF, and didn't seem to move anything for me. It updated as closed well after I had two others that were opened and current (33%/3% paid respectivelly, both auto).  Yes, I saw a score drop across all three, except they were all different.  6 on EX, 3 on EQ, and 2 on TU.  I use ALL of the CSMs.. I swear I am an easy mark on any service that anyone offers where I can track every data point on my credit ever lol. I didn't record the reason codes, just the explanation. :-/ I will pay attention to that for any other experimenting in the future.

Re: I am still not understanding FICO 8's Logic

No I don’t think you can dispute them because you dismissed the bankruptcy so it was never discharged.

The number of accounts difference doesn’t matter, as you’ve got plenty. It’s definitely the charge off/collection they are not on the other two bureaus are they?

It makes sense you did not see any change because of the other loans.

What dates, how far before and after did you get the score changes? From the reporting date?

Re: I am still not understanding FICO 8's Logic

@Anonymous  OK, a few interesting things to discuss here.

The score changes were the next reporting cycle which is what I was looking for when I tested the new account reporting hypothesis. The score change back up was on the following monthly cycle when I let that same card be the new AZEO.  And I got all of the same points back.

Now, I looked at the charge offs on my account, and realized the date for both to fall off would be this july.  I was going to call to have it removed early, when I got these alerts this morning from MyFico.  But, when I pulled my report, they were still there.  Do you think it is a timing issue, and it has been removed automatically, and it just isn't showing up, and will likely show up in the next true MyFico refresh?

Btw, My BK fell off EX today too automatically (two months early), and my score is now 815... holy sh**. Those collections are really dragging me down on TU!!
