Both are independent, and will not graduate.
Also you should note that if you decide to apply for a HSBC Mastercard
-you will get a NEW REWARD ZONE ACCOUNT-
and they will not merge or respect the one you have for the Store card.
So if you are already a Silver Member you will have to start over again.
(Not that it takes too long to do so). It happened to me and in a matter
of 2 months I got the Premier Silver Status.
I like the card a lot, the only thing that annoys me, is that sometimes when
you make a payment they'll put it on hold for 5 - 10 business days.
Hope it helps.

This is not correct information. I just app & got this card 3 weeks ago. The application specifically asked for my reward zone member # which I supplied. When I received my card in the mail my reward zone # is printed on the back of the Best Buy Reward Zone master card. I have logged into my account & it shows my previous 91 points as well as my pending points from my recent purchase. It is not a new reward zone member # but the same one I've had for several years.
I am sorry, but this was my case.
I'm glad for you though ![]()

I wouldn't think most people would want this. The store card is regarded as a better card that the MC --higher limits, better deals, etc.
My store card is currently at a $4K CL, and I don't think I remember reading about a BBMC with a limit like this. (There could well be, of course.)
The store card seems to be the better of the two. I got the MC back when I was in the process of building up my credit. It's a toy card, basically.
