Amex Platinum Application

Trendy or not, if i could get a Platinum, i would.

For my profile, getting a charge card is hard, i know ppl say the charge cards are easier to get, but the opposite is true for me.

Mod note:  I've moved the posts regarding your Platinum app to a new thread to get you additional exposure.  --UB

If your Experian is 660, you shouldn't have an issue.

It is, but i just got the delta and SPG, so i'm trying to let some history build on those first. Plus i'm working down a BT and it would be hard to hit the spend bonus right now.

$5K on a card in three months can be steep for some people, including myself, agreed.

Go for the Ameriprise Plat and then you can get another Plat card with the sign up bonus later.

I was thinking about that since it has no AF the first year, but i dont have ameriprise history, so i wasnt sure they would do that.  Everything i have, i've just gotten in the last year so my INQ's are high for most lenders.

You don't need to be an Ameriprise customer to get the card, they don't even check. The inquiry will be a SP unless it's manually reviewed.

My AMEX Ameriprise went to review and they approved it a few days later. I wouldn't stress it, charge cards are easy to get.

Thats the same thing i was told before i apped AMEX.  i was told it was on the verge of not being approved the Delta, but my green should be no issue.    as you can see from my sig, the opposite was true..  they have no interest in letting me have a charge card.

I wouldn't tell yourself that. The charge cards are factually easier to get because of their nature.
