Is it true that you have to have 0 negative items on your CR to qualify for an Amex Blue card?
Some dude posted the other day that he got a BCE. He had one unpaid and like 2 paid collections. I was amazed Amex approved him, but Amex has to take some risks now that they've lost a lot of their big partners.
Yea, ive been eyeing it for a while, just trying to figure out how long i have to wait. I have 4 negatives, but theyre all 5+ years old
what's your scores and profile look like? Did Amex prequal you for any offers?
Score is 684, profile is about 50/50. I have a car account paid off, another in good standing, 3 CCs in good standing, and mortgage in good standing for 4 years.
Still not prequalified, though. I guess ill just wait until i am
Does Amex hate baddies on all card apps? I was thinking about apping green card in the fall
You should try you never know
Not sure what Amex pulls but I was just approved Sat night for BCE for $2000 CL. I currently have 2 unpaid medical collections on some reports, everything else is rebuilding. Have SDFCU cc, CAP1 Secured card, and VicSecret card. My current FAKO with CAP1 Credit monitor thing is 666.
Not sure my actual Fico right now, or what report they pulled though. Could have been the one that doesn't have the medical collections on it. Note that the BCE came up in Pre-qual offer on their website though.
Amex pulls EX. I was approved this month with a 707 FICO-8 - no bad marks, but <1yr credit history. No prequal, and approved for $9.9k.

DW was approved for an ED and and PRG
I was approved for an BCP
We both have 2 baddies on our EX with a BK 7 from 9 years ago.
Scores were both 700-710 at time of approval. 2015
All approval were INSTANT
So...At least for our situation the ZERO negative didnt apply ![]()
For what its worth...I have read tons of threads where folks are getting in with mid 600 scores.
