Amex has a long memory!

I apped for a SPG Amex and was declined. The reason given was because they canceled my previous accounts. FYI, that was 22 years ago in a BK. So, for anyone who has wondered, I have found the truth. They have a very long memory. Oh well, I think that's one I can cross off my list for about a hundred years. I also had a primary go bad while I was the AU in 2008. I feel like a broken toy with missing parts. Smiley Sad

Re: Amex has a long memory!

PenFed brought up a repo from 30 years ago. My ex let it go back and never told me.
Heck, I had forgotten who even financed the thing.
There were only a few payments left on that 1984 Plymouth

Re: Amex has a long memory!

I somehow just got approved for an Amex 1.5 yrs post bk discharge but they weren't included in it. I did have a green card through my employer for years before my bk so maybe that helped me.

Re: Amex has a long memory!

The good news is.....if you decide you want to pay them back, they will let you back in. Me personally, I would have tried for the Delta Gold...its the easiest, and also, you should know this by now, you've been on the forums awhile....the soonest they will let you back after a bK is 5 yrs. Youre 4 yrs post....try for the Delta in June 2017, and see what happens Smiley Wink

I checked with them every few years till it rolled past 30 and by that time I was a member of multi credit forums and realized I ddnt need them and that they no longer stand for what they were in the 1980s.
