Ok the message was just the actual denial. As usual, response to sm is virtually non existant. Yeah, im done , not gonna waste another hp on any Penfed product. Was really looking forward to possible doing the new car thing when time was right but im going to hope Navy is different. Dont want to dwell too much on negativity, does me no good and does no either. one
@I just joined Navy about 2 weeks ago. Although they denied my cc app, they have approved me for a CLOC @ $5000 and an auto refi. Their CSR's have been so friendly and helpful. I was helping my son apply over the phone last night (Ok, really I was doing all the applying on the phone while he was watching the Championship game go Heels) and again, the CSR was so nice and helpful! I can't say enough good things about them so far. I have belonged to a CU for about 10 years now and never had service like this!

Sorry to hear this AJC!! But good attitude about not dwelling on negativity. Hopefully, Navy Federal will be there for you!!
Sorry to hear of the decline at Penfed. I would not close just run a small monthly through it and wait and see. Some cu are funny. The one by our office won't let make on line deposits because our score (mine and dw) are not 750. They will cash a check however against uncollected funds for several thousand dollars. Go figure.
Hey, AJC, sorry to hear about your continued issues with Penfed. They are definitely hard to figure. Let me tell you about hubby's plans. He has had a Promise card since Jan 2016, and a Defender since Feb 2016. If I recall correctly, Promise SL was $2.5K and Defender's was $5K. Within five or six months, Promise bottomed out at $10K, and Defender at $11K. And, I mean, bottomed out. They all of a sudden went squirrely on him. Any attempt at an increase was almost immediately turned down, and their new verbiage was that the denials were based solely on his chapter 7 bk. Strange. His stats at the time - $94K in income with 2% util. What he learned - no more pulls, and it's time to move on.
Fast forward. December 2016, joined NavyFed. End of December, app'd for their Cash Rewards card. Approved $24K at 12.9 APR. CLOC approved for the full $15K. Who's his newest bank - NavyFed. Will be apping for one more card - either GoRewards or Flagship Rewards. They seem to lke him.
His plans. Sent an email and asked if he could transfer $8K of his Promise CL to his Defender card. If successful, he'll close his Promise card. Won't miss it at all.
Joe, you've got cards with the best of banks. You're in with Navyfed, and you'll see great things happen, because your profile supports it. Just wait and see. If you close your Promise card, I think you'll feel a whole lot better. I'll be just a blur and a small part of your very healthy and awesome rebuild.

Thanks Weedeb. You're right though. If someone doesnt want to be part of team AVJ, LOL, well, can always form The AVJERS
. Im glad tour husbands rebuild is progressing nicely. Sometimes we gotta do whats best for us and if leaving Penfed alone for now is best well so be it
Thanks again for the support and stay well my friend
Stay well too, my friend!
