Re: BBVA mailer

Neither inquiries nor new accounts seem to bother BBVA and yes, they pull Experian.

Re: BBVA mailer

Ok. Well, I think I'm convinced.
I got a mailer a couple of weeks ago. I was afraid because my credit is so new (had been living the cash-only life).
Also, I really, really wanted to wait for a Chase card. But, I'm moving out of the BBVA area soon. So, I'm going to pull the trigger, too.

Re: BBVA mailer

They sure are pushing this card, I got a mailer w/code in later March app'd & instant approval for $6100. And I just got another mailer today with another code but I tossed it, I think they just didn't update their list of cardholders against the pre-selected list of candidates provided by a CRA. As much as I'd like a 2nd Clear Points for two 3x reward choices & two 2x reward choices they aren't going to approve me for a second card when I don't even have my first statement or made a payment on my current card.

Be sure to select your 3x & 2x reward categories BEFORE using the card, and then mark your calendar to make new or the same selections for the next quarter starting July 1st. Your current reward categories don't carry over to the next quarter and if you don't make selections by the start of the next quarter you only get 1x rewards.

Congrats! But I wouldn't close pretty new cards, that gives you a black mark on the lender to close very new cards. It doesn't cost you anything to keep them (as longs as no fees), just sock drawer them and wait until they're at least a year old. Pulling your credit for the app and making a card & mailing it to you cost them money so they don't like it if you close them quickly and not give them at least a few swipe fees.

Re: BBVA mailer

Thanks! 😁🥳
And, true. It's better to wait. I'm planning on closing each of my unwanted Cards on their anniversaries. A little Card Burning Party for their send offs.
Chopping Block Cards;
Cap1 QS1 - has fee AND I'm not a Cap1 fan.
FedEx CC- no rewards and just... blah.
DCU- no rewards and don't really use much.

Re: BBVA mailer

Quick question did they ask for your D.H's I.D? They asked me to upload a picture front and back of my D.L. It's been 4 days now. Thinking I will hear something tomorrow. I am starting to wonder about the card have read some nasty reviews. How's your experience been with the card so far?.

Re: BBVA mailer

The reviews for the bank are horrible. Mostly customer service stupidity.
The reviews for the credit cards are pretty good.
Based on what I've read, I app'd for the card but will most likely avoid any other banking with them, no matter what rates they're offering.
I was not asked for any proof of ID. I just used the code on the mailer and answered the questions. Instant approval.
Who knows? 🤷🏽‍♀️
