888-609-7805 (Chase lending services. It appears they have multiple numbers for the same department.)
Do you think its better just to call these numbers directly from the start?
I'm waiting for Discover to report my 0 balance to the bureaus (statement cut today) which I think will significantly improve my score and bring me into the 700s again. Going from 66% util to 29%. After that I was considering hitting the luv button, but I wanted to highlight to a rep if possible my everyday spend on my PRG is around 5-9000 a month PIF. At the very least I'd like if Discover would match my AMEX ED limit of $4000, although I'd prefer something around 5 or 6000. Ideally I'd like to achieve this via SP.
Discover is my longest account and yet has my lowest limit of $2000 (altho granted I've never attempted a CLI previously). You think I should attempt online and then call? Or just call straight away?
Simultaneously, I wanted to apply for the Chase Ritz - same situation - I want to highlight my PRG spend to make up for the fact that my overall revolving credit limit as of now is only $6000, with no cards having the minimum $5000 ritz limit. You think I should apply online, then call back next day to recon/request higher limit if approved - or just call right away? Also considering getting two Chase cards at the same time. Perhaps the marriot or hyatt in addition - leaning toward hyatt.
Never spoken to a rep in previous application scenarios, so a bit unsure how to tread.

When I called the EO back for a recon, (they use a Incorrect FICO score and I wanted a manual review) but she called from the number listed and I needed a pin code, which she gave me, (it was mellisa) anyone have any info on this? Does it vary for a certain time and they issue or can anyone with the code just call?
I found this post while searching for a way to contact someone at Cap 1 for a manual review. We used to be able to call the EO but that was shut down. Does anyone have info about this?

You definitely need to actually try for the CLI first for discover before you start calling retentions or back door numbers. They will tell you if it'll be a HP or SP before submitting... Kind of odd you haven't thought of trying that yet

Thanks for the reply, I did think of it, although I've been seriously putting off paying my Discover card for a while, and as such I had a high balance for quite some time. I've just only now paid it off and feel that I'm in a better position to seek a higher limit. Only waiting on CCT to show my updated utilization after Discover reports.

Experian and TU have reflected my decrease in utilization, so I requested a soft pull cli on Discover's website and was approved for another $500. I wanted more, though, so I called the number above and explained that I received an increase, but was looking for more. The woman then asked my permission for a hard pull, and after asking her which report they would pull (because EQ has not yet reflected my current discover balance), I gave her permission to pull transunion. I then recieved a total of a $1700 increase, so an additional $1200!

I have an issue with Discover IT card. Just looked up the Executive Office number which is 302-328-3300. Was told it would take 48 hours to research and get back with me. Can this number be updated on the backdoor numbers list?

Hey guys. Got a little inebriated Wednesday night and impulsively apped for the Ritz. I was given a 7-10 message, but I was emailed a 30 day message. Calling the automated line results in "You will be notified in writing of our decision within 30 days."
Seems like it doesn't necessarily mean a denial. What do you guys think my best course of action is? Should I wait it out and see what happens? Or should I call the backdoor?

I would call. Be prepared to answer questions about your credit history. Also, they may want to verify idenity.

I want to - I'm just a bit reluctant since this thread (and others) seem to indicate that the 30 day message from the automated system is more than likely an approval, and I've heard of some people on the verge of being approved end up denied by calling recon. What if I called the verification dept instead (800)278-8830? Aside from identity verification, I think the only thing they'd want to ask me about is my income, since I stated $50,000. Not sure if they feel this is too low, although I could try and bring up my household income which is far greater. I doubt they are aware of the NFCU card, since I just got it it doesn't show up on my reports, and I don't think Chase pulled TU. Checked - they pulled Experian.
