Well this is embarrassing.
My latest CLI denial letter from BofA says they denied me because "There have been too many recent credit requests on one or more of your accounts."
They're not wrong. I don't know the exact number, but I hit the luv button at least 4 times in a 12 day span. In my defense (why am I feeling defensive?), up until now they said the denial reason was that not enough time had passed since my last CLI. I was right around the 90-day mark on this card, so I was testing to see if the rumors about that being an important threshold were true in my case.
Interestingly, the luv button is still present on that card. I wish they would remove it until I've completed the unspecified time-out they've got me on. Why must they tease me so?!
@Loquat 👀 did someone say my name? I don't want any human looking at my report atm.
Interesting. Never heard of any lender saying that. lol
Well I guess that's a nicer way of saying "Stop already..."
I have noticed some odd times where the link appears but I know I'm not eligible and other times I am, it never shows up. I want to say there's some logic to your ability to get one when it appears but I have also used it, was declined then reconn'd to get it approved.
In Summary...
The link appears when the automated algorithm considers you eligible to request a CLI, it shouldn't necessarily be construed as a preapproval or other definitive sign that you're eligible to receive one.
Thanks @coldfusion
I was hoping you'd chime in as you always have a lot of valuable feedback regarding BofA.

It's kinda silly though that the algorithm says minimum 90 days, then it pops it up at 80 days anyway.
