Got a call from Chase today to clear my fraud alert for my CLI app. I have 2 old charged off accounts in their system from when my identity was stolen, she asked me about those and I told her how I previously had to send in all the supporting docs to Chase before they gave me my existing cards, she checked the notes, confirmed that, noted it on the account, confirmed the amount I wanted for the CLI, and said I could check my account in 48 hours to see the status of my application by just logging in online and checking my CL. Sounds like they're going to give me SOMETHING, no? She said I'd also get a letter in the mail in a few days, but that I can see it online sooner of course.
Well, at least it's not bad news!

So my banker friend who submitted the request called and they said it's still denied due to the stupid 5/24 rule. Is it worth me trying to call them to move some of my CL from Freedom to open CSP or should I just move on and wait til later?
I'm curious if ANYONE has been successful with a recon due to 5/24 rule.
It will be a no go, IMO. They don't budge on this issue.
Move on and wait.
To be honest, I'm not sure why you're dragging this. A company is allowed to have their own guidelines for card approval, and you happen to not fit their criteria. No one is entitled to being afforded an opportunity to have a credit card. Maybe there are even better options considering your spending options.
