@Anonymous wrote:I will apply sometimes in first week of March.. would much appreciate if someone can help me understand following things
1) In my location Chase usually douple pull from EX and EQ. I checked my EX and EQ reports, while EX report always lists date of account opened as first of month but EQ lists as the exact date when account was opened. So if anyone know, whether Chase will consider EQ or EX date for calculating 5/24?
2) I heard Chase does not count those store cards in 5/24 which cannot be used outside the store. I have a Macy's store card which will contribute to my 5/24, so is it like Chase will not count this? If yes is it by system or once denied I need to bring this into underwrite's attention?
I know I have been thinking too much.. but just trying to prepare myself, be approved for this card and don't miss the 100K UR points
@Anonymous I thought I overthink things lol. are you @ 4/24 with the in-store card? this could be you...http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/CSP-or-nah/td-p/4870977

I am currently at 6/24 with in store card.. If Chase consider open date as listed by EX report then I will be at 5/24 on March 2 and 4/24 on April 2 with store card still part of 4/24 in April. The Store card will complete 2 years in June.

no coffee yet but it seems moot as you will be at 5/24 no matter what and its really moot because I dont think any of this matters

The way I am thinking
1) If they consider account open date as listed in EX report, then on March first week I will be at 5/24.. System will auto deny me, but I can recon saying that out of 5/24 I have a store card which cannot be used outside the store.. I have seen data points where people were able to recon based on this. If I find a nice underwrite I will be done there. If not I will have 30 days time to recon on the same application and I can contact them in first week of April saying that I am now 4/24 with one store card
2) If they consider account open date as listed in EQ report, then on March first week I will be at 6/24.. System will auto deny me and I will wait and after 28 days or so I will try to recon saying that now I am at 4/24 with one store card.
Do you think this strategy might work out?
After reading around online I thought applying in branch could often times bypass 5/24 due to different system they use. I did this recently. Got 30 day. Called in and they said declined for too many accounts open in last 2 years. My banker claimed he had never heard of or had any idea what 5/24 was. I was astonished by this. Ganna go back in after I get the letter in the mail to see if anything else can be done. My banker seemed pretty clueless though as if he had no experience doing this. He was probably just tired of all the applications. Told me that 30 or 40 people had applied for CSR with him over the last 2 days.

I dont know **bleep** you are taking about, the is a branch app and the banker will be the one on the phone if something goes sideways. you are already thinking this will not work out, want a tip - you will get what you think

Applying in branch bypass 5/24 only when if you are pre approved for a card.. if not then it is same as online application as far as 5/24 rule is considered..
And Chase has removed pre approvals for CSR for the time being.. so as far as I know there is no way to bypass 5/24 even in branch if applying for CSR..
Branches I have visted in my area, bankers know about this and ready to help me get approved before the 100K bonus expires

Yah, I got pretty unlucky. My chase banker was terrible... really unhelpful. When you say your bankers know about this and are ready to help. What do you mean? Help how? Wondering how I should proceed with this at this point.

@I think you are wrong and I have a bunch of friends with shiny new csrs to support this. there is no way to know what is happening behind the curtain. to me it seems they have taken away the visual pre-approval but it still exists in the background. the reality to me is that if your profile supports the card it will be yours. its a flipping hp, 2 @ most, big picture who really cares, hps mean nothing compared to the rest of the pie. do as you will, good luck

I know initially bankers do all the talking.. but we can always call the backdoor number and try to recon on our own.. correct no? I may be missing with some facts though.. I will defintely try it, afterall its just a matter of 1 or atmost 2 HPs which I really don't care as I have only 1 in EQ and 1 in EX in last 12 months
