If you have a chase account already, I'd keep logging in. I applied for the CSR and got the dreaded pending message. Checked something random in my Chase account and the Chase CSR showed up! It takes patience. If it doesn't show up after a few days, you may want to call.

I'm going to hold off on calling unless I get a denial letter. How long did it take before you saw it in your account?

So the chase employee was just flat out lying to my face. That's soo frickin shady. I'm not sure calling the back door number is going to help me. In the old days yes now not so much. A manual review is probably going to kill my chances because they will liikely look to see what busienss cards I have with Chase. I will be interested to see if they claim to have a problem with having extended too much credit to me. If so I will reduce one of my credit lines and close my hyatt card. Since I have had it for two years I will just app for a new one in a few months and it should be an instant approval since its not subject to 5/24. Doom on you Chase!

Keep in mind branch people are not known for being the most savvy when it comes to corporate Chase policies. The person you spoke with might just not know any better.
Maybe I am confused. If people are getting instant approvals in the branch does that mean that the banker is telling them they are approved? Or are those people leaving and then finding out they are approved later that day somehow? She said they never have instant approvals that it always goes to pending. Seems to me she would know if instant approvals occur. This is not some small bank branch. This is a major location in a major city and she was clearly well versed in her sales pitch about all the different cards and their benefits, so she hardly seemed new at it, which suggests to me that if people get instant approvals in the branch she would know and if that is the case then she was not being honest.
DH and I applied in branch (separately) on Friday. Both went pending. When the banker refreshed DH's, it said denied. He was over 5/24. Mine is still pending and the automatic service has mine at 30 days. I'm under 5/24, but we also have 3 other chase cards with about $70k limit total.
I kept checking on line and saw the CSR got added to my account with a 10k credit line. That tells me that I am near the ceiling with my credit with Chase, but it is ok because I am probably going to close my hyatt card out and can split that credit between the reserve and my freedom card. As another datapoint it appears Chase did not count my chase business cards when determining 5/24. I am actually quite excited for this card for the signup and the fact I will likely be ditching the prestige later this year.
You have pretty good CS and if your income is of a considerable level then Chase will forego the 5/24 rule and grant you the approval on the CC.
Good luck!
