New to the forums but just wanted to say I was just approved the other day for Amex BCP. My AAoA is 9 months. The CL they gave me was 2500, the most out of any card i currently have. I only work part-time since returning to college to pursue a degree. Not sure if it helps, but it's something.
What are your scores like? That's actually pretty relevant and helpful of a story, thank you for sharing an congrats.

Actually, they are pretty similar to the scores in your sig, maybe slightly less depending where i look.
By that I mean, CK has my scores all around 660, where as discover says 713 as of the end of June. So I just consider it to be somewhere in the middle.
CK has me at 735. Between my thin file and their inaccuracy I see some pretty major fluctuations on there.
My file is thin as well. Went crazy with credit card debt in my 20s. Just applied last oct/nov for discover and was accepted. All of the baddies have fallen off my reports by now. Still afraid to apply for a capital one. Took forever to pay off the debt i incurred on their card 10-15 yrs ago.

As long as you paid them off you should still be good. Cap1 is very generous. Hell they gave me a 10K Venture Visa Sig a few weeks ago which is over double my highest non-store card before that. Hoping that big limits leads some other creditors to wake up and give me some more big limits.

Prestige is meaningless to me.
I actually think it just depends on what offer you get and what fits your spending pattern. For example, I love my AmEx SPG since I'm on the road frequently enough and you qualify for the SPG gold status if you spend over 30K a year. Having a business, I easily exceed this amount and have been upgraded to suites, comped for meals and free stays at Starwood properties more times than I can count. On the other side of the equation, I avoid Chase like the plague since I've had my limit cut frequently which makes it very unpredictable with high-volume transactions. So I guess it just depends on what your into and what works well for you. Best place to look to determine a good fit is the creditcardtuneup.com site.
My profile (cards and Limits) and scores are almost identical to OP. I just got approved Amex ED 6k and PRG both at the same time.
I was approved for the BCE three days ago. 6 month AAOA. No negatives. A few cards with a year of ontime payments. Highest limit card was 1500, that was two months old. Scores were over 720. Hope that helps
