Thanks, @OmarGB9 and @Aim_High .
Good points. I don't really need to incur another HP so I guess it's best for me to let sleeping dogs lie. I don't want curiosity to kill the cat!
Thanks for the options, though. Maybe one day for in the future if I decide to apply for another NFCU product!

I think you mean @Aim_High. 😂

Thanks, @OmarGB9 . My apologies to @Aim_High. I corrected it. Serves me right to be posting while on an endless conference call which left my mind numb.

@Jeffster1 wrote:How does one determine their NFCU Internal Score?
That's easy-peasy, @Jeffster1.
1. Apply for additional credit (new card, loan, CLI, etc.)
2. Get DENIED.
3. Read internal score on letter in the mail.
Lol
This is the only way you'll learn the secretive score.
Getting APPROVED also works.... sometimes. It seems to be related to whether they give you the best option. For instance, if you ask for a CLI, and get one, but not the full amount you asked for. Or if you apply for a new credit card, and get approved, but they don't give you the lowest available APR. Then you might get that letter with the secret number.

Thanks, @Anonymalous . I don't think I received one of those letters. I save all letters I get in reference to credit cards so I'll go through my pile again,
So far on my 2 navy cards, my initial approval letter on both cards had my internal score 297. but both my cli' letters did not include my internal score.

I got the theory from @UncleB, who reported getting internal scores after CLIs that were less than the requested amount in this post. The one caveat is the examples are from a few years ago, so it may no longer be current.
Were your CLIs less than you asked? Navy has always given me exactly the CLI I asked for, so I don't have any personal DPs.

Both of my cli's were less than i asked for.
on the cash rewards i was at 3700 and i asked for 8k and they only raised me to 9700.
on the platinum i was at 1k and i asked for 8k and they only raised me to 3k.
both cli letters said i was at my maximum limit but neither had my internal score listed, however when i initially got each card my internal score was in those letters.

Thanks for the DPs. The 1K to 3K increase might not qualify, because x3 seems to be one of their maxes. But the other one definitely does, and suggests Navy no longer gives out the internal score for a CLI that is less than the maximum.
Did you look on the back of the letter? I have heard thats where it is. I am not sure as I have never recieved one but read a post saying that it was on the back of it.
