i have AMEX Blue Cash Everyday with $2,000 limit, i got approved Nov. 15, 2014. i received my card Nov. 28, 2014 but they changed my card number because the first card was sent to wrong address then i used my card for the first time Dec. 1, 2014. So the question when is my 61st day for my card? So i can ask CLI. 3x my limit.
detailed answer is very much appreciated.
Hey dude. Don't quote me on this, but the safest bet would be to use the 61st day mark of when you first activated your card because that essentially "turns on" your account. That's what the CSR I spoke with told me anyway.
Really the approval date (11/15) would be when the clock starts so Jan 15, 2015 should be your 61st day.
I was wondering the same thing, my car was approved on November 13th, and activated on the 20th. I got a 20k line, and wonder what you guys suggest I do for the 3x increase, I don't want to be denied. Think 50k would be approved?

For 50k they will probably want some tax paper, 25k will not require anything
Is 61st method one time try only? because if that said i'm going to call on Jan 15 for CLI
This question always baffles me. Maybe it's just because I haven't read anywhere that the 61 day is the magic number, other than having to wait until you had the card for at least 60 days. If you are not exactly sure, why not just wait until the 16th, (Friday) or even Monday, just to make sure? Can someone chime in as to whether that exact 61 day date is the exact day you must request the CLI on or if not, the window shuts?
The reason I am asking is because using mine as an example, my 61st day is Jan 22, but I had already set a reminder for me to request mine later that weekend or Monday because my BCE statement close date is the 23rd and I thought it made more sense to let that second statement close.

I had the same question too, and I think it just opens at day 61, its not only open for 1 day. ![]()
Is there any downside to if AMEX requests tax information? Do they just want proof of my income? Any downsides?

Yeah that's what I was thinking about the 61 days. As far as the tax information, I am one of those that originally was in the camp of "what's the big deal, just provide it". However, after I thought about it, it seems way more intrusive than necessary and I never want to play that relationship with them. They could check income via other means and there is some info we could redact by other means. The way I understand it, they normally want to have access to your tax information themselves, all of it.
