I got a letter in the mail today it was marked "RSVP" and "invitation only" for the Maximum Rewards Visa card. It was a lot of slick packaging in premiere looking brochures. However this card is not very appealing when you get past all the fluff. It has minimal rewards(1% on EVERYTHING , no multipliers) and no sign up bonus. But it does have 0% APR until June 2023. I almost didn't apply for this card because I fell for all the shiny packaging and fluff last year. I was "pre selected" for the evergreen card last year and they denied me. But my curiosity got the best of me especially since it was "invitation-only". Also, I figured this is probably a lower tier card so maybe I'll have a better chance getting approved. However I know that they are inquiry sensitive and I have 25 inquiries! My last inquiry was in January. I was planning on not applying for credit for at least three months (more like six months) but in the end I was like "what's one more?" 🤷♀️😉 Also, I figured it would be worth the chance to get my foot in the door with them if approved.
So I applied and was surprised when it came back approved for $3,100! I know for a lot of you guys that amount is peanuts but I'm ok with it.
Fico 8 Experian was pulled. I am sitting at 681.
