Worked fine for me this morning at around 10:22am Pacific. I spent $11 online.
I'd be real curious if anyone manages to get a CLI out of them now or in the near future
I logged in to peek around the website this morning. Tried searching for a LUV botton but could not find any. Called the 800 number to ask about online CLI and if they had an phone app available, it was a no on each. Their website looks like a middle school computer class threw it together. Not proud to admit this but it brings back distant memories of when I had to log onto First Premier Bank's barebones website. To be honest, I was expecting to be charged to make a payment.

Same here. Functionality and Information on the site is painful. Can't log out unless you return to the home/landing page. If you go to the rewards site, it's not apparent that you can get back to the card site, had to poke around to figure it out (click on the 'person' icon upper right, then click home - that takes you back to the card site), while value of rewards is similar, I sure wish I would have cashed out my Barclay Rewards points for gift cards. I did go ahead and cash out my Mercury statement credit/rewards - never know when terms might change with this issuer.
Reading through this entire thread, I appreciate those that shared article URLs with information on the transition. It does appear that Barclay Bank has been reducing their risk and overall credit portfolio over the last few years. Would imagine brexit doesn't help matters either. Have to wonder whether their 'midrange/subprime' cards were so bad that no other bank would pick it up, or if this is a pet project to help out the fairly new Credit Shop firm to build a portfolio.
FWIW - I applied for this card in 2014 thanks to a 0% balance transfer offer, and got a low limit (1K) due to being in rebuild mode. They never touched my limit, despite multiple income and credit score increases since. Within the last 6 months, they did raise the initial 1K limit to 4500 - after reading the articles shared in this thread, I assume it's because credit shop/mercury made that request based on my scores/income/dti etc.
I don't much like being involved in the 'test case group' for a company that has previously only been engaged in short term loans (assumed these were uber-high rate loans, but their loan site indicates rates of 20-36% which is far better than predatory 300%+ of others), but I suppose I will give them a try. I can't afford to eliminate that large a chunk of my available credit without hurting my score.

"Their website looks like a middle school computer class threw it together" YES!!!! I was thinking the exact same thing. It makes me very skeptical about them.

It makes me feel better about the Web design work I do for a living, that's for sure XD
Hi,
i close my barclays card a month ago . Still got card from mercury and sending me a letter to activate now. Ridiculous.
I thought their main webstite (mercurycards.com) was better than most of the banks. It's attractive and clean. Also has a link welcoming Barclays cardmembers with Q&A behind it. Not sure what site you are refering to. Activation site was less attractive - so maybe that?
